Harry

I walked across the lawn, resisting the temptation to turn back and give Emma another wink. I could feel her eyes on my back as I made my way up the steps to the house I shared with the guys.

"Harry, what took you so long?" Niall complained, as I walked in. My blonde haired friend was sitting in our kitchen, attempting to find something to eat in our barren pantry.

"Sorry mate, I got caught up talking to our neighbor." A smirk came across my lips at the memory of her look of shock.

"Oh I know that look," Niall said, laughing. "You're into her aren't you Hazza?"

"Well let's just say that I think it's going to be a very entertaining summer," I told him with a wink.

"Oh lord, has Harry got another conquest?" Louis asked, appearing behind me.

"He does!" Niall grinned.

"Guys, guys, it's not a big deal. She's just some girl. We'll hook up a couple times, maybe I'll invite her to a couple parties, a summer fling that's all." I was adamant about this. I couldn't get seriously involved with girls just yet. Everything was just too raw from the last time. The guys knew that. They knew I wasn't over her. How could I be? She turned me into what I am today. I pushed the thought of her out of my mind and tuned back in to what the guys were saying.

"Liam thinks that we should get most of the unpacking done today, so we can get settled and find ourselves some jobs," Louis was saying.

"But what about the food?" Niall whined at him.

"Oh I got that covered," I said. They looked at me confused. "Emma said she would show me where the store is since she was going today."

"Oh her name's Emma is it?" Louis said with a smirk. "And when are we going to meet this Emma?"

"I don't know Lou, whenever she decides to introduce herself?" I snapped at him.

"And he's already getting defensive," he said with a laugh. "Damn you must really like this girl."

I dropped the eggs on the counter and left the kitchen, leaving the sound of Louis and Niall's laughter behind me. I went into my room and slammed the door. Sitting down on the mattress of what was soon to be my bed, I placed my head in my hands, the cold metal of my rings against my forehead helping to calm me down. Just breathe, I told myself.

Why did I care what the lads thought? It was just some girl. Sure she was hot, but I mean, I was just in it for the ass. Plus seeing her sweaty wasn't the worst sight to grace my eyes. Things I can: Get over her. Things I can: Sleep with Emma Russell. Things I can: Not get attached.
