Hermione havent seen the sky darker than tonight, the stars were gone, hiding from the tragic scene below them. The Trio just saw Professor Snape died, the man who they despised so much, gone.

She walked along side Harry and Ron, staring at the crumbling Hogwarts. The place where they felt safe now the picture of a warzone, the picture of tragedy. Fallen debris were resting everywhere. The air was cold and from where they stood, realization dawned at them. It happened. The war has happened and it will resume if Harry wont give himself up to Voldemort.

"Where are they?" Harry asked, his voice hoarse and weak. His hands cold and shaking.

None of them answered for they all know where they would be and they know what's coming.

The three walked silently through the fallen hallways. Their heart beating fast, they know very well from the battle they witnessed that there will be casualties; casualties that would never be restored again.

Ron jogged to the heavy doors of the Great Hall and opened it slowly. There were cries, mumbles and sobs. Dead people lined up at the sides. The professors were helping the injured students, trying to be positive but failing miserably. Hermione glanced at Harry and she knew from the look of his eyes that he's blaming himself for this.

Looking around, Ron saw a glimpse of Remus' and Tonks' body aligned with the dead people who fought. He tugged on Harry who was staring at them. His father's bestfriend dead. Tonks, his wife, sacrificed herself too. His heart broke, they have a son. He held back his tears, not wanting to be vulnerable around the people who stuck up for him. He saw familiar faces lying down the ground, pale face, cold hands and gone.

All of them knew this was coming but its hard to accept, its a big blow to everyone's heart knowing that they were not ready when it began. The scenario in the once happy hall now a mere tragic part of the history.

Hermione stopped walking and stared at the Weasley family who were huddled around a body she didnt recognised from afar. She looked at Harry as Ron ran towards his family.

She didnt dare made a move, not ready to see yet another face of a love one. Her blood ran cold as she gripped her wand. She prayed to everyone in the heavend to not let him die. She shook her head, smiling despite the tears in her eyes. He cant be dead, he said he'll marry her after the war, he promised. He's a fighter. But it has got to be from the Weasley's, she knew because if it not then there wont be Ron's shouts echoing through the silent hall, Mrs. Weasley's soft voice joining her son's pleas.

"My boy, my son!" Mrs. Weasley sobbed, her hands cold and her body aching. She leaned on her husband who was crying silently.

"No! We can still save him, we can!" Ron yelled, shaking a disoriented Bill. This cant be happening, he looked around his family.

"Well?! We have to do something!" he raged.

"Madame Pomfrey already confirmed," Mr. Weasley croaked, hugging her wife tightly.

Hermione was crying then and she mustered up the courage to look up, Mrs. Weasley was crying, her eyes bloodshot. Her husband crying silently beside her hysterical form. Ginny was pale, sobbing by herself at the scene in front of her. Hermione ran towards them and upon reaching the family, a crying Percy pulled George.

"George, come on," he pleaded but George just thrased.

He has been trying to take George away but he wont buldge. He gave up and sat beside his brother's cold body falling in a heap of sobs, rocking back and forth.

"George!" Ginny gasped for breath, kneeling beside Percy. She cried on his shoulder, not wanting to witness his strong brothers' break.

"I wont let go! Come on brother, you cant possibly leave me! What about the shop?!" George yelled, hovering above the body not wanting to let go of the corpse. He's gone, his other half, his twin dead. He promised that they'll both make it out alive and he's here, not breathing.

Hermione didnt need to see who was lying on the ground right then she knew. She fell on her knees, sobbing uncontrollably. Its impossible, he cant be dead. She cried on her hands, blocking everything around her.

"No, no, no," she chanted under her breath. She hugged her knees and did everything to gain her composure, but she cant.

Mrs. Weasley, upong hearing her wails ran towards her hunched form and hugged the young witch tightly.

"Hermione, dear," Mrs. Weasley soothed, still sobbing.

"He cant be gone!" she whispered.

"I know dear, I know," Mrs. Weasley said, fighting back sobs.

Hermione hugged her back, her life flashing before her eyes.

Fred Weasley was gone.

Her Fred, now a fallen hero.
