We drove in awkward silence, as we got to the daughters school.
I was anxious to meet her, it was perhaps just a sudden urge to meet the daughter of the woman I once wished to spend the rest of my life with.
Perhaps I still wish I could.
She got down without a word as I grabbed my phone dialing my assistant.
"Hello.....linda"
" Sir, we've been trying....."
"Cancel all my appointments today, I have things to do." I ordered.
"But, sir you're meeting the Vice President of airway development today." She informed.
"I don't care if I'm meeting Obama....it's time for the past and present to unite." I spoke before hanging up in time for mother-daughter to be back.
I stared at the young girl walking hand in hand with her all smiles.
She was a copy of her mom, just younger.
She was helped into the back seat , staring awkwardly at the car and then to me.
Her look was questioning, but I guessed she was just too shy to talk.
" well...we are ready." Alexandra spoke, a much calmer look on her face.
She must really love her daughter.
Her father must be proud, she was a beautiful girl.
I thought looking at her through the mirror.
But still there was something about her that baffled me that I just couldn't place.
I turned to find Alexandra looking at me.
"Ready?" Breaking the mood.
"Sure"
Again I kept looking at the girl who was so consumed with her Mac book.
Definitely spoilt....
I laughed inwardly.
"So what's your name, baby girl?" I asked earning a perplexed looks from Alexandra.
"Aubrey Terrence"
Terrence?
No father?
"You?" she asked.
"Ivan...Ivan Cyril..."
