You invited your best friend Ruby over to your apartment to watch some movies and hang out as you usually did once a week.
You were both currently in the couch, a blanket covering your legs and Ruby's arm resting behind your head as the movie started to begin. You loved being close to her, in all ways possible. From the way she let you rest your head on her shoulder to the way she makes you smile when you're upset or takes cares of you when you're sick. She's the most wonderful person you've ever met and you started to have strong feelings for her. Feelings that you couldn't hide anymore.
As you were watching the movie you picked, your head began to fill in with thoughts about you and Ruby. What it would feel like to kiss her, to go on a romantic date, to hold hands walking down the street, to tell her that you loved her.
In the middle of the movie, a love/sex scene showed up and you stayed in your sit very awkwardly trying to act it cool. You could feel Ruby also getting slightly uncomfortable as she shifted in her spot. The tension in the air became unbearable, you felt like this was the moment to tell her what you truly felt.
Your head turned to look at her beautiful profile and perfect features. She moved her head too and your eyes met. In that moment nothing else in the world mattered. All you cared about in that moment was the way you were staring at each other, how her beautiful piercing eyes glowed, and how you felt like a billion butterflies were about to explode in your stomach. That instant of just looking into each others eyes was magical.
After what it felt like a lifetime, her eyes went from your eyes to your lips and you heart inmediately raced. This was it. What you've been waiting for so long was about to happen.
You looked at her lips too, her plump pink lips and slowly, very slowly you started to lean in. She also moved slowly to your way and right when you thought she was gonna kiss you she rapidly got up from the couch.
"I...umm, I think I should go" Ruby said as you watched her make her way to where her coat was. She was leaving. You couldn't allow her to leave just like that.
"Ruby" You got up and walked to her. You grabbed her arm and she turned around facing you, now both on your feet. You looked at her eyes one more time before you cupped her face and kissed her. You took her by surprise, she was definitely shocked. You pulled away and your eyes met again with her wide ones. Your heart pounding so fast it could fell out of your chest. You stood there looking at her and you were begging to think that you made a terrible mistake and that she didn't like you that way.
You looked down at the floor and suddenly two hands were on each side of your face and a pair of lips were on yours. You kissed back instantly as your lips started to move in sync. You grabbed her waist pulling her closer to you. You felt like melting inside. The thought of having her lips on yours was so overwhelming yet it felt so great. It was magical. It was perfect. The kiss that you've been dreaming of was really happening and you couldn't help but to smile into the kiss. You felt her smile aswell.
You both pulled apart, smiling.
"I've wanted to kiss you for so long, Y/N" Ruby said while rubbing softly your cheek with her thumb, causing you to close your eyes for a bit.
"Then why didn't you?" you asked with a smile still plastered on your face.
"I don't know"
"Well, I'm glad you did. Altought, I kissed you first but..." you tried not to smile but the happiness that you were feeling was way too much.
"And I'm glad you did" she held your face and leaned in for another of many more kisses to come.
