4. Project

Alex's POV

Flashback (30 mins earlier)

"You will have your project planning later 10 mins before dismissal. So as for now, lend me your ears and listen to our new topic," Ms. Mae explained. But everything after that was a blur. I'm very sleepy. I am only opening my eyes for the sake of not being caught by Ms. Mae sleeping because she don't like that kind of tardiness. 'Might as well not attend my class if you will just sleep here.' That's what she always tells us. If only I am good with this subject, I am not going to attend if I'm this very sleepy. But I'm failing Chemistry so I don't have a choice. At least I was paired up with Hayley for the project that's due on Monday. Well, today's Friday so we've got Saturday and Sunday maybe to work this out. I am really not in the mood to discuss Nomenclature. Ugh. 45 mins til' dismissal. That long?

"Hey bro, who's your secret partner?" Niall nudge beside me.

"Secret. Tell me yours first," I whispered.

"Duh! You're like a girl,"he whispered too.

"Says the guy who says 'duh'," I say matter of factly. "You don't know her."

"Ohh. So who is it?" he asked now turning his attention to me.

"Well, I... Okay, she's Hayley," I hesitated to answer.

"Hayley? Never heard her name before. Is she new here?" he asked.

"No. She just prefers to be alone i guess," I answered.

Hayley is not the typical book nerd or anything like that. She just like to stay out of trouble (she prefers not to be known and popular). But then I remembered, the day I saw her in the hallway holding her tears. I wonder what was her problem back then. I set aside all those worries first. I roamed my eyes around to search for her but I can't spot her. Where is she? Even if she is that good in Chemistry never have I seen her ditch class. I suddenly remembered during third grade, I used to tease her. She is so cute back then. I love getting her attention even if it means I will annoy her. But when middle school came, she changed. I mean, not that really changed. She is still the Hayley that I used to know. Smart, beautiful, jolly and carefree but there is one thing that is new to her, her sense of clothing maybe. She's grown up, more mature and immature at times. She's still my Hayley.

A/N: This is it! Alex here admitted that he likes our Hayley since 3rd grade that long? As for more info they are already in their senior year. Will he admit that in front of Hayley? Or will he just kept everything just like in 3rd grade? Yay! So much can happen in 3rd grade.
