A Shifty Fox

Winter is getting picked on in school and Ethan gives her some advice....

14-year-old Winter had made her way to the mall and she was inside the food court sitting down and sighed as she placed her back pack on the table.

Not far away Ethan was a security guard he walked by and saw his sister and was shocked, there was still 2 hours left of school.

He went over. ''Hey sis everything ok?''

She looked at him. ''Hey Ethan.''

''What's going on? You should be in school.'' He replied.

''I would but I got in trouble and kicked out.'' She replied.

Ethan was shocked. ''What happened?''

''Mr. Rush kicked me out of science and the school.'' She replied looking at her phone.

''Why?'' Asked Ethan who sat next to her.

''Cali was pulling on my tail and she yanked on it I yelped stood up and turned around asking why she did that and Mr. Rush blamed me... didn't even let me explain and he kicked me out.'' She sighed.

Ethan was shocked he had never heard that before. He had Mr. Rush himself and the guy was nice to him and helped him out.

''I can't believe that, he as nice to me.'' Ethan replied sitting next to her.

''Because your not a fox... he hates foxes plain and simple.'' She replied.

''I am part fox through.'' He pointed out.

''Yes but your a unique type of hybrid a mix of them and I'm more vixen then wolf and he assumes I'm gonna be just like dad.'' She sighed.

''That's not right, is this the first time?'' He asked.

''No, this is the 3rd time this month.'' She replied.

''Have you told mom and dad?''

''No, why would I? I mean what can they do? Mr. Rush hates foxes so he won't talk to mom and he doesn't like dad.'' She shrugged.

Ethan shook his head.

''I'm off here in an hour and then I'll take you home.'' He said as he side hugged his sister.

She nodded as she got up to walk around. Ethan was worried and upset. Later after they finished at the mall and they drove home as they stopped to fill up with gas.

''Here go get us something to drink.'' Ethan said handing her money.

''Sure thing.'' She got out and went inside.

Ethan was filling up gas when he saw Mr. Rush also filling up with gas and he went over.

''Mr. Rush.'' He called.

The male gorilla looked up and raised an eyebrow and smiled when he saw Ethan.

''Well Ethan Wolf! How have you been?'' He asked.

''I'm good just got off of work.'' He said.

''Ahh I see, how are your studies coming?'' He asked.

''Great thanks.'' Ethan was a junior in high school.

''That's great.'' He replied.

''Say um I heard you kicked my sister out of school.'' Ethan started.

Mr. Rush looked up and stopped when he saw Winter coming out and getting into the car.

''Oh Winter? Yes she was disruptive in class and I won't have that.'' Mr. Rush replied.

''Really? I mean did you even get her side of the story?'' Asked Ethan.

''I didn't need to she snapped at that girl for no reason, besides I think she was just doing it to impress the boys in class.'' Mr. Rush replied.

Ethan saw Winter was wearing a tight tank top and shorts with sandles.

''So she likes boys but still you should hear both sides and 3 times is a bit over the top.'' Ethan pointed out.

''Look she is a troublemaker, all foxes are and she will fail if she doesn't stop causing attention, good day.'' Mr. Rush said as he left.

Ethan went to the car and got in. ''You need to tell mom and dad what has been going on.''

''I will... why what did he say?''

''He basically says your only shouting out for attention and your a troublemaker.'' He said as they took off.

Later they came home and walked in to the smell of food.

''Hey mom!'' Called Ethan as they went into the kitchen.

''Hey my kids are home.'' She smiles looking at them.

''Is dad here?'' Asked Winter.

''Yeah he's in his office.'' She replied.

''I'll go get him.'' Ethan said quietly to Winter.

''No, I'll tell them later.'' She said.

Later that evening the family sat down to eat and they were enjoying the evening.

''So, mom sell any houses today?'' Asked Winter.

''Not yet but I got 3 people looking at one.'' She smiles.

''Any new leads dad?'' Asked Ethan.

''Not really, I have to stop at bars tomorrow and try to figure something out.'' He replied.

''So how is school going?'' Asked Diane.

The kids were silent.

''I got sent home today.'' Winter replied.

Both Wolf and Diane looked at their daughter and at each other.

''Why?'' Asked Wolf.

Winter looked down and sighed.

''Mr. Rush kicked her out because she was being disruptive but her school bully was yanking on her tail.'' Ethan replied coming to Winter's defense.

''He didn't even let you explain?'' Asked Diane looking shocked.

''Nope just told me to leave... This is the third time this month he did that.'' She sighed.
