Joy stood infront of the console, turning her head from time to time as she admired the certain emotion. 'There she is,' she thought, 'sitting peacefully, so quiet, so peaceful... So, beautiful... Wait, what am I saying?! I mean, BEAUTIFUL? Its not like I'm crushing on SADNESS!'. She blushed at the thought and turned back to the console. No matter how much the yellow emotion tried to push the thought out of her mind, she WAS certainly growing feelings towards her fellow blue friend. 'I have to make a move..' she thought, 'Or else I might as well explode!'. She bit her lip and shook her head, 'For now, I have to help Riley.', she sighed and went back to work.
Once the lights went off, signalling that Riley has drifted to sleep, Sadness walked over to the console for she had dream duty. Joy stalked her, she felt her heart raise and her chest tightened, her stomach felt as if it were tied into knot, she sighed. "I can do this.." she whispered to herself as she walked to the blue emotion, right after she sat infront of the console, Joy bit her lip and sat next to her friend, a confused Sadness asked, "Joy? You should be asleep.. What are you doing awake?.." her voice seemed.. Concerned? Joy just nodded, "I'm just not tired." she smiled as the dream began. There was silence between the two, "So.." Joy said, breaking the silence. "So?.." Sadness looked up at her friend as Joy looked down. They were facing eachother, noses touching, they got closer, they were so close that they could feel eachothers breaths against they're lips. Before they knew it they had they're lips pressed against eachother, none of them knew who started the kiss, but none of them cared.
The kiss lasted a while, until Sadness had pulled away, her face covered in crimson red blush. There was a silence again, they just stared at eachothers eyes, panting from the kiss. Joy smiled and hugged Sadness close, Sadness didn't mind, of course, for she had feelings for her friend for a while now. The blue one pressed herself closer to Joy, they stayed like this for the whole night shift. They knew this was a start of something new, but, how will the others react?
