Chapter 24

Everyone dressed up armed to the teeth. After all this was what everyone has been training for since their departure from October. We boarded a helix and we reached our destination. The intruders had the residents on their knees. The wall was demolished. There were zombies all over. The man in charge asked me why I was sleeping all those years. Because of that he couldn't pin the blame of his creation on me. He was evicted to face the brutes he had created. He was hoping to get me so he could use my blood to make an army. Or at least make himself an immortal that is unchallenged. I had enough so I jumped off the helix and screamed in rage. As always these enemies of Tsar fell down and started to spasm. I screamed till they were all unconscious. The others jumped down and smashed the weapons and I walked back to the helix. The humans watched as I turned full monster and let out a howl that killed all the zombies. I changed back to my old self and Oleg my husband wrapped his coat around me. He carried me back to the helix and we went back to the palace bloodstone. The humans began the menial task of cleaning up and rebuilding the wall. The traitors were beheaded and burnt. The humans came to pledge loyalty and servitude. As queen I accepted their loyalty but told them that servitude was a propaganda that was used to create a rift. There are those who claim to be a superior race. They are ones creating hatred and spite to keep everyone from seeing these people are actually the disease. They believe that they deserve everything while others deserve nothing. These people were told to go home and live their lives normally as we will not be meddling with their affairs. They are not our superior and we are their masters. All we want is to live in harmony. If they can do that we are all champions. What most people forget is that we are all interdependent. The day one of us loses eventually we all lose.

The humans requested that I visit them. I said that I am assigned to rule vampires and werewolves. I will not be meddling in human affairs anymore. The humans made a request that I marry one of them as a form of truce. I raised my finger to show them that I am happily married so I have no intentions of a second husband. They turned to the rest of the council but they too were happily wed so there was no marriage between humans and nocturnal. Oleg wasn't happy with the marriage proposal. I knew if I didn't act quickly then he might consider eating the man. This would create problems but fortunately he chose to remain calm. The humans left and I sat down to tug at my key. Oleg asked me nicely, "What solution are you looking for now?" I shrugged, "One where there are no zombies. The humans leave us in peace and both sides don't rip each other apart. Hurting them is hurting me." Oleg was smiling. The council made it clear that the humans will be told to mind their own business. The council pledges to keep their covens in line. The werewolves requested that I go to Eventide. The council preferred Crepuscule. The others insisted that Piedra de la Luna. I wanted to go to Svalbard. No one is allowed to be born there and no one is allowed to die there. I was told I can go there after my term as the empress has expired.

Oleg shook his head as I walked to the throne room. I placed my hands on my head. The council gently patted me on the head and consoled me. The moment was ruined by a message from the humans demanding that I move to the center of the human district so people will stop saying that I am responsible for these beasties. I smiled, "Didn't I just prove my innocence. Was everyone asleep when that vermin confessed to creating things. Is it because I am a woman?" I extended my senses and discovered that the bastard in question managed to flee. So I ordered his capture and his death is only allowed after everyone in all the human districts has heard clearly that he was the one who created these brutes to destroy human life so that they can have everything to themselves. The superior race nonsense has to end now. The best trackers from both sides went hunting and he was discovered at the edge of the Tsar calling for aid. He was dragged in and was forced to tell everyone how he had created these things to kill each and every one of them so he can have the riches of the earth. This was met with outrage. After which he was strung and stoned to death. The humans were told to live their lives as we are going to live separate lives from them. This was met with retaliation. The humans wanted protection that I had extended to the nocturnals.
