Pads of heavy steps could be heard as they traveled up the stairs. A roar of anger settled slightly, joined with slams of doors and squeaking hinges that echoed throughout the enclosed area, a groan leaving a figure as they heard the noise.
The figure moved across with light footsteps, headed to a room, closing the door softly behind them. They plopped down on the bed residing in the corner of the room, light barely shining in as they were seated. Eyes flickered around the room until they landed on a box. Approaching it, one thing could be seen clearly; that it was rarely touched, as shown by the mountains of dust on it. A blow of wind and a coughing fit later, the box was opened up to reveal... childish things. Toys, books, figures... it almost seemed like a time capsule. Most of the findings were bland, except one thing. A large, indigo covered book. Hands wrapped around the book as it was picked up, eyes gazing at the glittering title. "Folktales of the Land", it read. The figure seemed to stare at the book for some time before moving back to the bed with the book.
Once the book was open, doors to worlds of unknown were opened. Folktales were a large thing in the universe; lessons of the past and history for the present and future. That is, if the folktale is real. But by this... the stories seemed to be what made Pokémon Dex entries. One talked about a little girl who played with a Drifloon until she disappeared for good. Another about a boy who turned into a Kadabra, secluding his life to isolation and dying alone. But they weren't all this grim; farther in, there was a tale of an Eevee and a Riolu that went on adventures together, while the Eevee was really a human! It was more like a series, with there being different tales for each one.
But none seems to take a liking to them... but there was one, that was a tale about Duskull chasing a child after receiving a scolding from their mother. It seemed... ironic; how could something as cute as a Duskull chase a child? It just seemed unreal.
"I'm quite sure that one is a false..." Sighing, the voice put the book to the side and nuzzled into their sheets. The homey smell ran through their body, relaxing the muscles, and soon send the figure to sleep.
Time passed slowly, and all seemed calm, yet there was a draft that went through the area. The figure shivered time to time, tossing and turning. Little did they know, they were being watched closely.
。* 。* 。
A glow of spherical substance shown in the corner of the room, watching the figure move. It must've been waiting... waiting for the right time to strike.
Slowly, the predator moved out of the shadows, going over the bed.
Such innocence to be disappeared... even for such a nice looking young man, he never knew to not push the line to parents... It's a shame, really. Arceus had blessed him well throughout his life, and had more planned, but it's come to this... time to say goodbye forever, little boy.

The figure seemed to hear the wind, even while deep in slumber. Turning once more, eyes peeled open slowly, going wide once scared in a blink of a second. All that was visible was a red glow, almost enticing to the view... Light peered over, revealing a mask of a skull, and a sheer gray body, as dark as the dusk's sky...
"Wait... skull and dusk...? Duskull?" The Pokémon moved back in response to its name, looking down at the figure and across their bed.
"The folktales..." That doesn't mean this cute Duskull is here to chase me... right?
The Duskull just watched the figure, seeing as this isn't the reaction it was looking for. No matter, this will be an easy time... just no fun.
Shaking its head, the Duskull watched the figure more, and the figure watched back. They both studied each other, the setting quiet and calm with just the two.
If I run, it'll follow... If I stay, I'll eventually face it... there's no safe way...
What took the Duskull by surprise, was the sound of the window being opened and echoing footsteps across grass dying out.
So... let the chase begin.
