Angela, Faith and Kaylee were coming back down the winding roads toward home in Angela's old truck and singing along to the radio at the top of their lungs when suddenly Angela saw a man step out into the road.

She slammed the brakes and swerved to avoid hitting him and collided with the rocky cliff line. The truck crumpled and the sound of crunching metal and painful screams filled the air.

Angela lifted her bleeding head from the steering wheel when she regained consciousness and looked over at Faith and Kaylee. Kaylee was just coming to as well with a large purple welt on her forehead but Faith was still unconscious and bleeding from her nose on the seat between them. Angela reached over and laid her hand on her, letting her energy flow into the little girl and fix her injuries.

"What happened." Kaylee groaned as she rubbed her forehead.

"There was a man in the road." Angela replied looking back at the road and seeing that it was empty. "I don't see him anymore... I hope I didn't hit him!" Angela and Kaylee got out of the truck and as Angela limped out onto the road, Kaylee helped Faith out of the truck and the girl clung to her neck.

"What happened?" she asked.

"Angela's not a very good driver and she ran us off the road." Kaylee replied lightheartedly.

"There's no one out here." Angela called out and Kaylee walked out onto the road to join her.

"No there's not." she replied. She looked over at the truck and winced. "I don't think anyone can fix that truck now... Not even my dad." Angela sighed.

"No, I don't think so either." she replied with sadness. Kaylee growled when an unfamiliar immortal scent reached her nose. She whipped her head around to the woods and saw five very big men walking out of the trees.

"What are they?" Angela asked and Kaylee shrugged. They looked like sub demons but they were much bigger than any sub demon Kaylee had ever seen. They were close to seven feet tall and covered in muscle.

"Do you have your gun?" Kaylee whispered and Angela shook her head.

"It's in my purse, in the truck." she replied and then she bent down and removed the two long silver knives from the straps on her legs. She handed one to Kaylee, who sat Faith down and hid the girl behind her.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Angela asked the men who had stopped about ten feet away and were staring at them.

"Victor sent us for you." one of the men said as he pointed at Kaylee.

"He can't have her." Angela replied and the giant subs grinned.

"Rotan would like you. He likes the big bones girls." the first man said again.

"How charming." Angela replied dryly.

"Kaylee!" Faith screamed and Kaylee and Angela turned in time to see Frances appear and grab Faith around the waist, lifting the struggling girl into his arms.

"Frances what are you doing?" Angela demanded.

"Protecting my own daughter." he replied coldly. "Do not fight us or I will have to kill this girl." he added, wrapping one arm around Faith's shoulders and the other around the top of her head, preparing to snap her neck. Angela and Kaylee shared a helpless look. Even if they could take out the five giant subs, there was no way they could do that and stop Frances before he killed little Faith.

"Throw your knives down." Frances said calmly and Angela and Kaylee knew they had no choice but to do what he told them. They tossed their knives down and stood still as the subs grabbed them. They tied silver cuffs around Kaylee's wrists and ankles, to weaken her and keep her from changing.
