Regina gazed out the window of her mothers black Mercedes Benz as she bobbed her head slightly to the music playing in her ears. Losing herself to the music, using it as a distraction from the nerves coursing through her body. Suddenly she felt a hand on her knee. She jumped slightly, not used to being touched...at all.
She looked across the console and smiled shyly at her new mother. Cora Mills. Mayor of the small town called Storybrooke. Her new home.
"You'll like it here, I'm sure of it" Cora gave her knee a gentle squeeze as they pulled into Storybrooke High's parking lot.
Regina gave a small nod before opening the car door and sliding out. Pulling her bag onto her back and her ear buds out she waved as her mother drove away to her office.Taking a deep breath, Regina turned on her heels and walked up the small flight of stairs to the main entrance. She stepped through the wide open door and into the main hallway. It was only 6:57 so no one was in the halls except her. She swallowed past the lump in her throat as her flats tapped down the hall to what she hoped was the registration office.
Regina tapped lightly on the office door with her knuckles. She waited a few moments before turning away from the door. Biting her lip nervously she checked her watch. It had been a welcome home gift from Cora and Henry, her new parents.
It was only 7:05. She sighed. She had about 1 hour before other kids would start to arrive.Sighing, she slid down the wall next to the office door and pulled her sketch book out of her bag. Grabbing a sharp pencil from her pencil case she started to idly draw on a fresh page.
Regina pried her gaze away from the wild flowers now strewn across the page in her lap as she heard the thud of boots echo down the hall.
Suddenly shy she stared hard at the drawing, hoping that who ever it was would go away, she just wanted to get to know the school before letting people in.The sound of the boots came closer and stopped infront of Regina.
The boots obviously belonged to a girl, black leather with a delicate pattern spreading from the toe to the heal before dissipating up the leg of the boots.
"Hey" the beautiful voice rung in Regina's ears. She sucked in a breath before chancing a glance upwards.
"Uh...h-hi" Regina managed to say as she looked at the girl infront of her.
Soft blonde curls ran down her back a stray ringlet trailed down your right cheek, framing your grass green eyes and plump, rosy lips. A red leather jacket covered your shoulders whilst jeans hugged her legs.Regina could feel heat creep up her neck. She quickly looked away.
The blonde chuckled at Regina's demeanour and crouched down into Regina's field of vision.
"I'm Emma" the blonde said holding out her hand
"I'm Regina" Regina took Emma's hand and shook it, liking the soft, smooth feel of Emma's hand in hers. Emma smiled warmly and gently squeezed Regina's hand before releasing it.
"What are you doing here so early" Emma asked as she slide next to Regina, leaning her back against the wall.
Regina closed her sketch book and leaned her head back.
"Umm...well...my mum had to get to work early i guess" Emma nodded then stood up.
"Come on, I'm gonna show you around" Emma reached down and offered her hand to Regina. Regina grasped it and pulled herself up, before reaching down to grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.
Emma released her hand and walked down the hall. Regina followed, butterflies already filling her stomach.-----------------------
