Lost in Ikea

We strolled along the snow covered sidewalk, the flakey snow crunching beneath our feet. Sweden and I needed to buy a new chair after Denmark clumsily broke one. We went together while the other Nordic stayed home to keep warm. I liked going out with Su-San anyways. The trees were covered in snow alone with the frozen lake was a perfect setting.

We decided that Ikea was a good place to go to buy a chair. At first, I protested, knowing that I would probably get lost in a giant store like that, but nevertheless, here I was. Walking up the path to Ikea with Su-San and Hanatamago. It was chilly and the wind stung as we strolled along the path up to the giant store. Hanatamago was wrapped up in a small dog sweater I bought him a few days ago.  A red one with zigzagging white stripes. I held him close as a gust of wind brushed by. Sweden, pulling me closer to him.

"It sure is cold out." I said, laughing. Sweden nodded. He was never the one to really say anything. We finally made it over to the store and stepped inside. It was larger than I thought. Immediately my mind went blank as I stared at the rows upon rows of furniture. Sweden led me over to the top floor and we approached a nice looking lady.

"Hello and welcome to Ikea. What would you like to find today?" She asked. I let Sweden talk to her, because honestly, I didn't really know what to say. I walked over to a shelf and looked at the furniture neatly stacked upon it. Everything was so neat and orderly here. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around to see Su-San standing there.

"Follow me." He said. We walked back down to the first floor and started making out journey around the store. Sweden sure did seem to know where he was going. I stared in awe as I saw all the items stacked around me. Sure it seemed large from the outside but inside it looked never ending.

"How much furniture can you fit in here?" I asked. Sweden shrugged and continued walking. He wasn't even sure how much it held when he created the store. That fact scared me a little.

As I was looking around, Hanatamago jumped from my arms and scampered off. "Hanatamago, wait! Come back here!" I called as I chased after him. The more I chased him, the deeper I went and soon, I had no idea where I was at all. I had gone around bends and corners so there was no telling where I was.

"H-hello? Anyone there?" I called out. No one answered. Surly Sweden was looking for me by now. Surly.

"Yip!" Hanatamago busted out from behind a display and jumped into my arms. Startled as I was, I stumbled back. I looked around fearfully. I was lost and had no idea of where I was. No Sweden to protect or help me and I couldn't see any workers. They should've put telephones are call booths in the store so we could call and tell them we were lost. Or at least put in a pathway out.

I sighed. I wasn't going yo get anywhere moping around like this. I started walking around the store in search of anyone or a familiar mark. Nothing yet. Hanatamago took refuge in the hood of my jacket as I kept on walking. "That's just like you." I said. Even though my hope was fleeting, I still remaind determined.

My feet trudged along in hope I would find anyone, or anything. I was surrounded by furniture. I was pretty much walking aimlessly at GUIs point and just let me feet carry me. I was daydreaming until BAM! I hit had hit my face smack dab into a wall. I fell down, holding my pounding head.

"Ugh! Why can't I find ANYone here?" I yelled out. "CAN ANYONE HERE ME OUT THERE?!" I screamed. I heard an echo of my voice and sighed. Maybe I would never get out. My stomach growled. Great. Now I was hungry. I stood up and set my hand on the wall. If I followed the wall, maybe I could find the entrance again.

I started walking alongside the wall, pleased that I thought up a way to escape when I saw huge shelf block my path. "Are you kidding me right now." I mumbled. I traveled around the shelf and rejoined my wall. Only to be blocked by another shelf. I crumbled to the floor. There was no hope for me. I couldn't find my wash out of a supermarket once, how could I possibly escape a place as big as Ikea?

That's when I heard footsteps running my way. I jumped up and hugged the wall. I was scared and personally, I didn't want to find out who it was. What if they decided to hurt me, or worse. I shut my eyes and wrinkled my nose. I was too scared to see if anyone was there.

Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder, "Fin? Is that you?" I heard a familiar voice ask. My eyes shot open.

"Su-San! Thank god you found me! I thought I was lost forever." I squeaked out as I hug attacked him. Sweden hugged me back quickly and let go.

"Come on. Let's get you out of here." He said. I followed him happily to the front of the store.

"Did you get the chair?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Yes." He answered simply. I smiled.

"Good, because I'm not going back in there." He showed a small smirk but it faded soon after. Even if he didn't show emotion a lot, he still did. But for now, I was just glad he had found me.

Short and simple. I thought up the idea while talking to my friend, so it was an on-the-spot kind of thing. Plus I needed a change of topic from the sad story that it Rosewood.
