Harry woke with a start. He was a having a dream about a very sexy Victoria's Secret model before he started feeling a tingling sensation run throughout his entire body. He ignored it at first, but the tingling only grew worse and started to become painful. He brushed it off as growing pains and popped two tablets of ibuprofen in his mouth before he tried to go back to the sexy dream he was having. Harry thought he must really be growing though because if anything the sensation only got worse to the point where he was writhing in pain. Harry knew he'd been growing and that's why he kept the ibuprofen on his nightstand, but as he popped two more tablets into his mouth he couldn't help but feel that this was a different pain from growing pains and that ibuprofen probably would not be able to help. Harry knew he wouldn't be going to sleep anytime soon with the pain coursing through his body. He decided to try and find something that might be able to help, and waded toward the bathroom that was connected to his bedroom. Every step he took felt like he was stepping on needles that was lit on fire and Harry winced with every step. Harry cringed as he turned the light on as it felt as if it added even more burning to his skin that felt like it was on fire. Harry froze in horror at the sight in the mirror before him. Harry tried to scream but all that came out was something that sounded like a yelp. Harry was literally a shadow. A fucking shadow. As if things couldn't get worse Harry noticed that his eyes were a glowing yellow color that made him gasp in surprise as he was nearly blinded by the brightness of his own eyes. Harry shrieked once before turning the light off in hopes that what he saw would suddenly disappear but if anything, they only got worse as Harry realized he could see just as clearly in the dark as he could in the light, it was like the light wasn't even turned off. This caused more panic to reside within Harry as he flicked the light back on, forgetting the excruciating pain that was affecting his body or, he didn't even know what to call it anymore, his shadow? But it wasn't really his shadow was it? As the panic swirled within and Harry's mind swam with questions, his shallow breaths soon turned erratic as he realized the gravity of the situation. As Harry stared at himself all he could think was what the actual fuck was happening to him. He pinched himself a few times to make sure he wasn't dreaming and sure enough he felt his nails as they pierced his skin or whatever it was because it wasn't really skin anymore was it? His vision became blurred with panic and Harry realized he had no idea how to get out of the state he was in. Now he was going to have a panic attack because he was a shadow. Really Harry get a grip you're dreaming. But as Harry tried to reassure himself and slow his respirations, it was like everything seemed to add panic until Harry could barely see through his blurred vision as everything went black.
Louis was having an awesome day. When he woke up that morning he had this sense that today was going to be an amazing day. His prediction became true as everything seemed to be going in his favor. His mum even surprised him by making him bacon and eggs that morning with tea just the way he liked it. In fact, when Louis looked in the mirror that morning he could've sworn that he was literally glowing. Louis brushed it off and blamed it on the fact that he was about to have a fantastic fucking day and nothing was going to get in his way. He quickly jumped into his car after breakfast and made the short drive to his new school. Louis had been moving around a lot lately because his parents had recently gotten divorced and he still couldn't figure out where he wanted to live, he was 17 years old and he didn't want to make the hardest decision that would affect him greatly so he just chose to live with his mum for his junior year and his dad for his senior year. He figured it was fair enough and it wasn't like he wouldn't visit his dad, he just needed his mum right now. His siblings didn't have as much of a say as he did though as their parents just began the fight for custody which he knew would be never ending. So to make it easier for them they opted to live with their grandmother for the year so things could be worked out without them having to be caught in the middle of a feud between two people they loved the most. In the end, they got to keep going to their old schools while Louis and his mum had moved away to small town in Cheshire called Holmes Chapel. As Louis pulled into school he read the school sign that said, "welcome back students and welcome freshmen." Louis was relieved that he had moved at the beginning of the school year because it would've been harder for him to catch up with his work and he really didn't need to put any extra stress on his mum right now. Louis walked into school and picked up his schedule and scanned his classes only to realize he had no idea where he was going. He was walking through the hallway with his nose in his schedule trying to find the locker he had been assigned to when he was suddenly on the ground and the air was knocked out of him, he looked up to see a mop of brown curls and the most glorious green eyes with yellow specks he had ever seen. Louis soon realized that he had just thought that eyes were glorious when the stranger said, "oops!" Louis just stared and blurted "Hi," before he could help himself. The curly haired boy replied with a chuckle before helping Louis up. "Sorry about that mate, I tend not to look where I'm going most of the time before wham! I'm smacking into someone." Louis giggled at the boys way for explaining himself before replying, "Not a problem really, I wasn't quite looking either so you could say were both at fault." The boy studied Louis with a gaze before stating, "You're new here aren't you?" Louis was taken aback for a moment at the bluntness of this stranger. "Yeah I am, but why does it matter to you?" Louis snapped back sassily. There seemed to be a glint in the stranger's eyes as he eyed Louis with even more curiosity than before. "Well are you just going to stare or are you going to tell me your name?" Louis snapped again before instantly regretting his tone that he used. It was exactly that attitude that his friends told him made it hard for people to appreciate his bubbly personality when all he did was sass them. But that was just who Louis was, that's how he made people laugh, and most people wanted to be around him. He had a considerable amount of friends before he moved, but no one talked to him after he moved in the summer, guess you find out who your real friends are. But the boy just chuckled, "The names Harold Edward Styles, but most people just call me Harry," Harry replied sarcastically. Louis loved that fact that this guy, or Harry actually could see that Louis wasn't trying to be hasty with him, he just had little patience. Louis cleared his throat and extended his hand and replied, "Pleasure to meet you Harold, my name is Louis William Tomlinson." Harry actually burst out laughing at Louis' antics and reached for his hand to shake but as there hand touched, a spark went through their hands and through their whole bodies. They both jumped back in surprise at what just happened. Louis thought that it was a rather surprising yet pleasurable experience as he looked into Harry's eyes to see them flash yellow as Harry looked at him with the same amount of surprise which let Louis know that he felt it too. They stared at each other until the bell rang and it brought them out of their reverie. Louis then realized he still had no idea where any of his classes were and before Harry could walk away he quickly grabbed his wrist and felt another spark jolt through him but decided to ignore it this time, "Do you happen to know where Mr. William's class is?," Louis asked frantically looking at his schedule for some sort of indication where the classroom would be. Harry looked relieved that the bell rang and said, "Yeah I'm heading that way now, looks like I'll be see more of you Mr. Tomlinson." Harry winked and began to walk away and Louis followed behind him. This will be one hell of a year, thought Louis.
