I woke up as I heard footsteps down the hallway. The clock said 12:03 A.M. It was my birthday. As I sat up the door opened. "Happy Birthday Syrena. I have a present for you!" The girl came rushing to me with a box in her hand. I didn't recognize her but she seemed familiar. She got a necklace out of the box and put it around my neck. "I'll be back." The girl stood up and smiled. She turned and flew out of my window. I rubbed my eyes. Is this really happening? I looked out the window and all I saw was a pink butterfly. Sleep. Thats what I need. I closed my eyes and started dreaming.
"Happy Birthday Syrena!" My mom was holding a cake in her hands. As I am about to say thank you and all that crap I saw something on the corner of my eye. I turn and see a pink butterfly. I ignore it and turn to say thank you. My moms smile vanished. "What's wrong Mom?" She is staring at the butterfly. "It's time." She goes into my closet and gets my designer suit case she got me from Paris. "What is going on?!" My mom opens her mouth to say something, but doesn't say it. Instead she stares at my necklace. She looked away and started packing. My tummy started to growl. I took a bite of the cake and sat there. I had no idea what was going on, but it is my birthday. So I should make the best of it. "Syrena, I love you and I'm going to miss you." Mom hugged me and then gave me my suitcase. "Go to the lake by Oak Bridge." She went to her room and closed the door. I have no idea what jsut happened. I opened my suitcase. All I saw was clothes. I opened the secret compartment and searched my room for stuff I would hate to part with. I got my necklace that has the cross. Then I got my stuffed Koala from Australia. Then a picture of my family which had Me, Mom, Dad, and Dismay. Then I grabbed Dismay's collar. I closed my eyes and remembered Dismay. He was the best dog ever. When I was nine, Dismay and I were walking through the woods and suddenly there was a flood. Somehow I survived but Dismay drowned. I found his body by the park. I felt the tears coming so I shoved the collar into the compartment. As I walked out the house I turned around. I had a feeling that I was never going to see that place again.
I had walked for about thirty minutes and I finally made it to the lake. The pink butterfly flew into the water. Then, the whole lake turned blue. It used to be a slimey green, but now it's a clear blue. I dived into the water. My suitcase followed me. Somehow I was swimming really fast. The pink butterfly stopped infront of me. I couldn't feel my feet anymore. I looked behind me to make sure they were still there. But they weren't there. All I saw was a tail. I noticed that I was breathing. Underwater. The pink butterfly dissapeard, and so did I.
