I slipped my shoes off, clinging on to Jake's arm for balance. He'd picked me up not too long ago, and took me to the beach, the host of the pack bonfire. I handed my converse to him without thought, socks tucked into them, and he grabbed them thoughtlessly. I had him pretty well trained clearly.
He led me over to the bonfire, a warm hand on my back, comforting.
"Lottie," Paul called, making his way over to us, his long legs covering the distance in no time. He picked me up in a bone-crushing hug, making me giggle and wheeze.
"Alright, put her down Paul," Jake snapped. Touchy.
"Jake, it's fine, chill," I told him, placing my hand on his arm to comfort him. I allowed Paul to tug me over to the pack, letting him nudge me towards a log/bench thing and sit down. It was empty, but was soon filled with two jealous wolves. I was sandwiched between Paul and Jake, their heat radiating off of them.
"I'm glad you came Charlotte, Jake said we have something to discuss," the other old man spoke. Old Quil, Quil's grandad. And the lady next to him was the spit of Seth, so she must be Sue Clearwater. She'd replaced Harry after his passing, taking up the role of being apart of the council.
"Are you hungry?" Jake muttered, his hand moving to grab my thigh. Woah Jake. Don't get me turned on here, the whole pack will be able to smell it. I shook my head no, I had eaten just before Jake picked me up. He nodded, and got up to go get himself food. Emily had made a fabulous spread of food, and now that I thought about it, I was a little hungry. I think Paul must've sensed it. He didn't bother asking, just walked off and returned with two plates.
Paul was rougher with his treatment of me, more forceful. Whereas, Jacob was softer. I liked it though, the push and pull of the two boys worked, gave me what I want in different ways.
I more than happily accepted the plate from Paul, it wasn't as piled as his plate. He'd gotten me a chicken leg, a hot dog and a piece of corn. I accepted it happily, wolfing it. Didn't clear my plate as fast as Paul did though.
Jake still hadn't returned, he was off chatting to Seth and Embry.
"Why don't you go chat to anyone Paul?"
"I wanna stay here with you," he mumbled, pulling me into his side. I curled up into him, letting his warmth envelope me. By the time that Jake had come back, I was pretty much fully on top of Paul's lap, his nose and mouth firmly in my hair. He seems to think I can't hear him inhaling my smell, but I can. I may not be a wolf, but I still could hear. Moron. It was sweet though.
Jake whined as soon as he got back,
"Paul let go of her."
"No, she's comfy."
"But, it's my turn."
"No it's not."
"Paul stop being a selfish ass."
"No."
"Paul."
"Jake."
Their bickering didn't stop until I'd fought my way out of Paul's lap and sat in between em. I grabbed Paul's arm, pulling it around me. And grabbed Jake's hand, placing it on my leg.
"There. Happy?" I snapped and the two nodded sulkily.
"Charlotte," Sue called and quiet settled over the group. I looked over at her, shrinking under the gaze of them all.
"What was it we're here to discuss?"
"My sister, Bella, it's been confirmed she'll be a vampire. The Cullens will turn her, just after graduation. But it was Bella's decision, does that still violate the treaty?"
