It all started out fine, he tended to notice a few changes here and there but his partner hadn't changed much since he finally gained his own body, his own vessel, his own hope. But his hope was slowly slipping away.

It slowly started from being busy all day to not even glancing at him, the former pharaoh noticed this slight change in behavior and thought it was odd, but when he went to confront his light about it he would give him the same answers 'I didn't notice' , 'Sorry I've been busy' , 'Can we talk about this later?'. The same answers the same excuses, the pharaoh even noticed that his partners friends even stopped acknowledging his presents.
It made no sense, the pharaoh had done nothing to upset his light, at least he thought he didn't. No one was willing to talk to him nor even give him the time of day. It was as if he was a spirit again, but this time instead of being trapped in the necklace he was trapped in the shadow realm. A pit of darkness that consumes your soul until your just a hollow shell of what you used to be, of who you used to be.

The pharaoh was slowly being consumed, his bright crimson eyes a dull blood red, his pale peach skin now as pale as a ghost, his perfectly built frame now skinny and frail, his perfectly framed face now droopy and tired. It had affected him badly, When Yugi would come home and cook he would only make his own meal and not buy any other source of food leaving the older hungry and left to starve in his room.

The only food he got was that of the ones supplied at school. Teachers noticed his transformation from the great student that wanted to learn to the thin child that sat in the back. One time a teacher was so frightened when the pharaoh fell asleep in class she thought he had stopped breathing. As her panic frenzy ended she had instructed him to go to the infirmary, where the kind nurse offered him a meal to eat. Although he was starved he only ate a small portion, since his stomach had shrunk from all the abuse on his body that almost every time he ate a few minutes later he would through it back up.

To make matters worse Yugi's grandfather had died of a heart attack. The younger so impacted that one day on his way back from school he locked the former pharaoh out side of the house. Temperatures a little below -10 degrees. The Domino City police had passed by his body that lay near the door that night, fearing the worst they took him back to the station where he was given medical treatment. He had suffered hypothermia but was not badly hurt, the tips of his fingers frozen but had thawed out on the way there.

The pharaoh spent more and more time sick and less and less time at school. The teacher that thought that he had died in class even came to check on him at home, luckily Yugi was at the arcade with friends. Yami had stopped eating at school, not having enough money to pay anymore so his free time was spent crying silently in the library clutching his aching stomach.

Sometimes the librarian would take pity on him and give him whatever food she had although it wasn't much but he was grateful either way. He was too weak to even be able to get a job let alone go to school.

He wanted his suffering to end, so at noon this day he made his way towards the Kaiba Corp building. Being as it is the tallest building in Japan that was located near him it would do for what he had planned.

Yami made his way up the stairs, trying to avoid any guards or other people that might question him, he stood at the top of the 50th floor being the roof and walked towards the edge. The former pharaoh hoping for a quick death to end all the pain he felt right there and then. Yes there were other ways he could have done it: a slice to the wrist and neck, a stab to the heart, a bullet to the brain. Yes there were more efficient ways of going about it but what he really wanted as a last request was to know what it felt like to be at the very top, to have it all but to just soon fall from your spot upon your throne as your body makes contact to the fast approaching ground.

The pharaoh stood at the edge on the ledge looking out into the horizon, the beautiful lights making it seam as if the sun was setting against a sparkling glimmering ocean, the sky a faint orange reddish tint as the light was being refracted, making the beautiful scenery.

"At least I can die to a beautiful sight" the pharaoh whispered to no one as he closed his eyes, his arms spread out his head held high and his legs tight together, he let his body weight fall forward his baggy clothes waving in the wind as he plunged into what he saw as peace.

But his happiness was short lived as his body reached towards the 20th floor, a pair of strong built but also frail arms stuck out of a window and caught the suicidal as the owner of the arms pulled the pharaoh towards their strong built chest. " You thought of leaving without saying goodbye first" said a strong deep baritone voice.

"H-how.... W-why" the pharaoh asked dumbfounded as he raised his head from the mysterious males chest, only to be stopped in his tracks as his dull crimson blood red eyes met iceberg chill blue. But the owner of the eyes wore an unusual sad smile, the tall brunette swaying back and forth as the two males sat on their knees, sitting near the still opened window. "How did you know I w-would d-do this" the pharaoh asked his savior.

The brunette had a saddened smirk on his face as he stared into the shorters eyes ,"We have sear-valence cameras monitoring the whole building" Seto Kaiba said as he turned his head towards his desk where three desktops had the video of him walking in through the front door all the way until he jumped of the roofs ledge. "O-oh" at this point the pharaoh was sad and disappointed, sad that he had to continue to go through this pain and disappointment for not being given his sweet peace.

"What happened Yami? You used to be so high strung, what has caused you, this perfect gem to crack and shatter" Seto said into Yami's ear, the words hit a nerve in the former pharaoh as he burst into tears his arms limp near either side of his body.

All the brunette could do was sway them both back and forth, whispering words of comfort into the others ear as he started to sing his version of a soft lullaby.

"Hush now pharaoh, don't you cry
Seto's gonna sing you a lullaby

Hush now pharaoh I know it hurts
But death is something that you are not worth

Cry all you need I'll stay right here
Hoping that I can end your fear

Hush now pharaoh don't you cry
Seto's gonna sing you a lullaby

If the beat of your heart stops
It might not be enough to stop the clock

Although the world shall keep spinning round
If you go my world will be turned upside down

Hush now pharaoh you know it's true
This world would be hell here with-out you"

Although it was little that he did it apparently helped since a few minutes later the pharaoh had cried all his tears out. Hesitantly but surely he raised his arms to the brunette's back as he returned the hug that was latched onto him awhile ago.

"T-thank y-you Kaiba-" but before the pharaoh could finish the brunette cut him off "Please just call me Seto"
