Alice sat in the corner of the padded room, trying to break free of her straight jacket. It had been three years since she had been put into the asylum and she wanted out. She was in the asylum because she was diagnosed with multiple personality disorder, and she would often have one sided conversations with herself, them often being violent and hateful. It wasn't her fault; she had other beings living in her head, but the humans couldn't understand that.
"Any minute now," Alice spoke to Rage, one of the demons that lived in her head, guiding her and keeping her company.
"Yes, shortly the doctors will take us down to the electric chair for our so called treatment," Rage spoke, emotionless as usual.
"I like the chair! It's so fun!" Another demon, Mayhem, giggled out. She was the demon who always saw fun in torture.
"Shut up, Mayhem. Nobody was talking to you," Alice spat out as the doctors walked in, silencing all three. Alice inched closer to the wall as the doctors picked her up, carrying her to the room with the chair. They strapped her in tightly to the chair and sent volts of electricity through her body for a few minutes, then stopped and asked her a few questions such as what's your name, what species are you, what's your favorite color, and what was your past like. Alice had always answered these questions right, and today was no different. Furious, the doctors threw Alice back in her padded room and locked her back up.
As soon as Alice was back in the room, she let Mayhem take control of her body. Mayhem freed her hands, then looked for a guard. Once she saw that there was none, she kicked the door down with ease. Alice then took control again. She grabbed the guard's chair and broke off a leg, now having a spear of some sort to defend herself. She dashed down the hallway, making a beeline for a window. Once she made it to said window, she climbed onto the roof and made her escape.
She ran far from the asylum, from the city, then off of the island, then out of the country. Along the way, she managed to steal a white tank top and a red hoodie. She didn't need a bra because she was a flat chest, and she didn't need underwear or pants because she already had them on. She changed out of her straight jacket into the new clothes.
She continued to run until she ended up in America. New York City to be exact. She had no idea where she was as she hopelessly wandered through the big city. She continued to walk until she saw a girl with an eyepatch run into an alleyway. Curious, she followed the strange girl.
She ran into the alley, seeing no one there. She could've sworn she saw someone there.
"Hello?"
Alice nearly peed herself when she heard the girl speak up. She whipped around to see the girl sitting against a wall of the alleyway.
"You scared the shit out of me!" Alice said, clearly angry, "who are you?"
"My name is AnimeLover12000" the girl chuckled out.
"What? What kind of parent puts numbers in their child's name?" Alice was confused.
"No," AnimeLover12000 chuckled, "that's the name I chose. My real name is Beatrice, but I go by AnimeLover12000."
"Oh. Well, you can call me Shadow." Alice, now Shadow, bowed.
