Chapter 2: Memories

"Cami, we need to talk." I hear a voice whisper and quietly shut my door. "Cami, wake up." I opened my eyes and it was Hayes. Darn he was cute. Wait, I'm with Luke, and I already like Daniel, what is wrong with me. This is why I should be single, I can't even make up my own mind. Ughhhhhh. "What do you want?" I ask Hayes. I mean he woke me up at 8:15, I mean I haven't gotten up that early since school. "We need to talk." He says and he hands me his phone. It's a picture of me and Daniel. Last night. "Oh my god. How did u get this?" I ask. "It's ALL over twitter, Instagram, tumblr, vine, and even gossip channels have covered it. What was going on between you to? You guys look really close. Like, really close. You guys didn't kiss or anything. Did you?" He says. "What no. We didn't. I swear. But I so have to say something." I say quieter. "What..." He says. "I think I need to brake up with Luke. But he's such a good guy, I don't wanna break his heart. He's so sweet and I love him, I really do. But after seeing Daniel last week, I don't think were ever going to be that 'together forever' couple. But I wanted to be. It's just. After seeing Daniel, I realized I was never actually over him. I was just lying to myself." I whisper. "Yeah, I understand. You guys were just that "OTP" as people said. I still see comments and tweets about Caniel. But you need to break up with Luke. You just can't go straight to Daniel. That wouldn't be right. Just wait a couple of months. But the question is, you guys live together. Do you think you could handle that?" He's right. Can I. I don't know. I want to. "Look I gotta go. We'll talk later. Don't break up with Luke." He says and leaves the room. I really need to get my life together. Since I couldn't go back to sleep (thanks hayes😒) so I decided to finish unpacking. I pulled out a box with a bunch of pictures. Some of me and my family, some of me and the guys, some of me and my girls, and then I came across a picture I didn't even know I had. It was from the 4th of July six years ago.
~FLASHBACK~
We met up with the guys and Mahogany to get Icee's. We walked around the beach and just goofed off. "Hey guys, I have to go to the bathroom." I say. "Of course you do." Carter complains. "It's not my fault. I was stuck between Hayes and Daniel on the car ride. I drank like two water bottles." I say. "Why? Because you were thirsty?" Jj asks. "Nope because they were stressing me out." I say. "That's true she kept yelling at them to shut up." Shawn laughs. Daniel and I went to go find a bathroom. I knew it was going to be a port a potty and I wasn't excited about that.😒 But we had a flashlight so I guess that made it better. We walked with our hands intertwined and I was kinda hard to walk, because, you know, we're walking on sand.
"Let's ditch the guys!" I say. "Ok." He replies. We went down to the shore and the water was cold but it felt nice with the heat. We just stood there for awhile with our hands interlocked. People were playing local radio stations and our song came on. We have a lot of songs, but the song that we both LOVE is photograph by Ed Sheeran. We liked it before it was on the radio, so ya know, we're cool.(💁💁😂) We went onto the dry sand and tried to slow dance to it. Again, TRIED, yeah we failed. It's harder than you would think. Then at the end of the song, we kissed. It was magical. After the kiss I saw a lot of people were filming us. "Well, we're going to see us on Twitter and Instagram." I whisper to him. He chuckles.
~FLASHBACK OVER~
Ahhhhh, back when life was as simple as ever. The picture was beautiful, thanks Matt. That night was one of the best nights ever. Ahhhh. It was so much fun. I miss the guys. I miss being in a relationship with Daniel. I miss us. Then I pulled out another picture. It was of Julie and I.
~Flashback~
"Jules!!!" I yell running towards her. "I missed you so much!" I say. "I missed you too!" She replies while we squeeze each other. "How do you guys know each other?" Shawn asks. "We went to school together until I moved. Me, Sabrina, Molly, and Cami were all best friends. Like we stayed over at each other's houses all the time." Jules says. "Yeah it hasn't been the same without you!" I say.
~Flashback Over~
That was the best summer ever. Hands down. I got a call from Daniel.
D: Hey, what's up.
C: Nothing much. Just putting up some pictures.
D: some good ones?
C: Yep. You have no idea.
D: Well, do you wanna hang out tonight? Some of my roommates friends are coming over and I'm having some friends over and I know you just moved here so maybe I could introduce you to some people.
C: Um yeah sure. I think that'll be fun. Really fun.
D: Cool. Oh and you should bring Hayes too.
C: Haha ok. And you do know that I'm not dating Hayes. Right?
D: Yeah. I follow you on Instagram.
We both laugh. Geez I missed this kid.
C: We'll be there around 7ish ok?
D: Ok. See you then.
C: Ok. Well I have to go. Bye
D: Bye.
We hang up. I texted Hayes that we were going to Daniels.
We couldn't tell everyone that we were going to Daniel's house. So we told them that we were meeting up some old friends. Which wasn't a lie. Daniel was an old friend. We just didn't say who was the old friend. I put on a gray and black shirt that said NYC and black skinny jeans. I put a scarf and beanie with my glasses. I put on my black combat boots. I put on my on light make up and grabbed my phone and my black purse.
"Cami, Hayes, what's up?" Daniel asks as we walk in. "Nothing much. You?" U reply giving him a hug. "Long time no see man." Hayes says while they do a bro hug thing. "Hi Danny." A high pitched voice said. "Oh hey. Guys, this is my girlfriend, Carrie. Carrie, this is Cami and Hayes. They just moved here from North Carolina." Great. He has a girlfriend. She's really pretty. But she looked a lot like me, only taller. Like Daniel has grown, but she looks like a tower compared to him. I still need to break up with Luke though. I just don't think it'll work out. This Carrie chick snapped me out of the thoughts. "So are you guys dating? Or....." She trailed off. "No, we're just great friends. He's like a brother to me." Lie. I mean we are good friends. But you don't think your brother is cute. Or hot. Anyways, I was just hoping that in the end I would be with Daniel. She looked into him, but I could say the opposite about him.
Everyone was really nice. There was this one girl names Carissa, we got along really well and traded numbers. She had already followed me on Instagram and Twitter so I just followed her back.
"Let's watch a movie!" Daniels roommate, Christian, says. We all agreed. Daniel put in Grown Ups 2. I was exhausted so I fell asleep on Hayes's shoulder.
