This generation

I swear I was born in the wrong time.
It's like we don't realize it can all stop on a dime.

Relationships have gone down hill.
It's like we are scared to show how we really feel.

We are quick to say who we claim.
Then turn right around and cheat on them with no shame.

What ever happened to you mean what you say.
Instead we're lying from day to day.

I swear I'm not from here.
Sometimes I wish I could disappear.

I want to go to a world filled with trust.
But no I'm stuck in a world filled with such lust.

And these are supposed to be the best years of my life.
News flash society is killing us like one big knife.

If we want to know true happiness and peace,
We are going to have to go back to a world filled with less grief.

How can we do that you might say.
How could we ever get away from the hate that haunts us every day?

We have to leave the hate behind,
Before we can truly let peace unwind.

We have to let go of the past that holds us back.
And let peace run free instead of trying to attack.
