Voices. That's the first thing I remember after the world around me started coming in to focus. Two voices talking in hushed tones.
It takes a moment for me to understand where I am, since the dull ache in the back of my head makes it hard to concentrate. The room is rectangular, with cement walls towering on all sides. A lone bulb dangles from the high ceiling, basking the room in faint light. There's a trolley on my left but I can't see the contents on it. Before I can analyze the room further, one of the men realize that I'm awake.
"Well look who finally decided to wake up."
The man started walking towards me, making me panic ever so slightly. I fidgeted in my chair, trying to free my arms. Did I mention I had a straitjacket on? I didn't? Well now you know.
"What do you want?"
I tried to keep my voice steady but it was seriously hard. I've been in this situation once before, and trust me, it ended in a whole lot of bruises. It's not that surprising actually, being CutiePieMarzia's second in command puts you up high on the most wanted list. While I was inwardly laughing at my own joke, the man grabbed me by my hair rather forcefully.
"Don't act like you don't know."
And here we go. The spy movie cliché I've been waiting for since this inquisition began. Honestly, I'm starting to feel like I'm starring in Taken 3 or something. This time I failed to contain my laughter, causing the man to clench his jaw and pull down on my turquoise hair. My laughter turned into a yelp as I felt a burning sensation on my scalp.
"Look," I muttered through gritted teeth. "I have no idea what you're talking about and I would appreciate it if you could get your mitts off of my hair."
At first he didn't react. All he did was inch his face closer to mine, forcing me to look him in the eye.
"You'd better start talking soon, or things'll get ugly."
This guy was pissing me off, so why not return the favor? I arched my eyebrows, my face a look of mock realization.
"Oh now I understand what you want!" I heaved a dramatic sigh before continuing. "That's what everyone asks me these days." I paused again, almost breaking into a laughing fit because of his eager expression. "Look man, I'm really sorry but I can't tell you which dye I use for my hair. It's strictly confidential."
The guy let go and turned around. I was about to open my mouth to fire another sarcastic remark just as a fist made contact with my jaw. I barely had time to gasp in shock due to a second blow, this time to the side of chin.
Soon enough I was covered in bruises and my face numb. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for another attack, but the punch never came. All I heard was a clear voice,
"Alright that's enough."
The door opened to reveal a man I recognized all too well. Brown eyes and hair that increased his height by at least five inches. Standing right before me was Sam Pepper.
