"Don't get hurt, Sapplingkit!"
Mother's words rang through the camp.
"I'll be OK; Don't worry!" I replied in a squeaky tone.
"Hey look the kit's out of the nursery!"
One cat called from the shadowy Warriors' den as I whipped around to face him.
"What do you mean, Kit?" I gritted my teeth as he laughed at me.
"You're what I mean!" He fell over rolling and kicking in the air laughing like a mousebrain.
Yeah so, I was a kit. Who just opened my eyes. So what! I grumbled and walked away, Finding a mossy rock somewhere hidden in the shadows.
"What's this...?"I pondered, clawing at it.
"Yikes!!! That hurts!" I yelped when my claw became caught under the rock. I tugged and tugged but the dumb claw wouldn't come out!
"Ow!!!" I Yipped as I fell back finally fetching my claw from the rock. I scampered back into the clearing where mother could see me and lapped at my twisted claw.
You dumb rock. I'll get you someday!! As I
Looked up, Cherrykit pounced on me knocking me shockingly to the ground to yip and squirm.
"Ha!! Gotcha!" She growled in excitement.
"Oh yeah?" I kicked her in the air and ran out of the way as she landed.
"Hey!!!!" She moaned as she landed.
"That hurt!!" She whined.
"I hope so." I muttered.
"Mean! MOM! SAPPLINGKIT'S BEING MEAN!"
I rolled my eyes and stalked to the warriors' den to peek in.
"Woah..." I stared into the nest filled
Room with one or two cats curled up in their nests to sleep or relax.
"Sapplingkit, were you being rude to your sister?" Mother's voice was closer then before. I whipped around to see mother right behind me!
I jumped and pressed my back against the den's outside wall in surprise.
"Well she started it!!" I protested.
"I don't care who started it.
Be nice to your sister."
"Fine." I growled and stomped away as mother returned to the nursery, hissing at Cherrykits' smug smile on her face. I stomped to the entrance of camp and whipped around to see cherrykit widening her eyed at me and opening her annoying mouth to tell on me again. I ran to her and slammed her down, pinning her.
"I'm not going outside camp, just taking a look, you snitch!!" I growled and returned to the camp entrance staring out at the vast world beyond the camp walls.
Then how am I hearing them??
They didn't smell of my clan, Ryeclan. I panicked and ran full speed to the nursery shoving Cherrykit in with me.
"HEY!!!" she squealed.
"What are you doing, Sapplingkit?" Mother asked, puzzled.
"ANOTHER CLAN IS ATTACKING!!!"
My squeal echoed louder then I wanted it to.
Then the yowls started to erupt from the clan clearing.
"Bladeclan, Attack!!"Mother rushed us into the nest under her legs as the enemy clan began to stream into the nursery.
One grabbed my mother, yanking her out from above us. Cats reached at us, their claws unusually sharp.
Blade claws.
Mother thrashed viscously, Slamming the cats out of the nursery and shoving us under the nest to fall in a large cave.
I rubbed my head and cherrykit's tail lashed in pain.
"Sapplingkit, What are we gonna do?"
Cherrykit whimpered, pressing under me in fear, shivering, her teeth chattering in total fear of the large strong cats with blades for claws.
"I don't know. At least we're safe in- what is this again?" I sniffed and looked around, my eyes blinking to adjust to the dimness.
"It looks like a cave." I pondered aloud, audible to Cherrykit.
She nodded and began shuffling around the cave.
"What's this...?"
She paused at a bundle of moss as I know it from the nurserys' nests.
"It's moss." I ventured over and climbed into the moss, smelling no familiar cat scent on it, so I claimed it as mine.
"Go find your own." I grumbled as cherrykit tried to join me.
"Fine, ms. Rude paws." Cherrykit scuffled into a nearby moss bundle a bit smaller then this one I'm laying in.
"Ha, beats you I found the better nest!" I boasted, puffing my chest out.
"I found it though!!!" Cherrykit meowed shrilly
"Ok fine yes you did, but I knew what it was and you didn't, so its mine!"I retorted.
She snorted and listened to the muffled screaming and yowling of the battle, as I did so.
"It sounds so cruel..." I whispered and she nodded, setting her head on her paws, soon falling into a doze as I did the same. Not knowing how much time had past I blinked open my eyes.
The screaming had stopped as I woke up, shrinking down in surprise as I found that Cherrykit wasn't in her nest.
Then when I set my eyes on her, scuffling around the room I scowled.
"Come on let's see if the battle is over..." I mewed making her jump.
"O-okay."She muttered, Watching as I stretched up and peeked out of the cave pushing the moss out of the way. What I saw was horrible, dead cat bodies scattered around the clan clearing, and one of them was the cat that laughed at me.
I screamed and tumbled back, landing on Cherrykit in faint.
My vision blurred in disgust and horror, Some packed grief in my head, making it throb like giant rocks being slammed into my skull, over and over again.
Mother soon pushed open the nest door covering the cave entrance and carried us both out to hide with the clan somewhere far away from camp.
"Mother, why did this happen..?" I asked her silently my voice weak with tears falling down my cheeks.
"Nobody knows. Just stay away from Bladeclan.... Burntstar leads that clan, and Burntstar Is probably the most sinister cat ever in the clans's history..."
Her voice trailed away as she stared at the sky sadly.
"Your father... Died in this battle....
Oakstar............" Mother whisper quietly to me and Cherrykit.
Chwrrykit and I gasped, crying harder and shuddering in grief.
"Where is he now?" Cherrykit spluttered.
"Starclan...."I answered
And while I crouched staring at the sky, a dark thought crossed my path. I promised to kill Bladeclan and every cat in it. Every cat.
No mercy.
Just death.
