At Oakestar's burial I crouched under my mother as Cherrykit did the same, my bangs covered my face as my saddened eyes glittered with tears that slowly stroked down my cheeks and slowly streamed off my face onto my legs and paws.
"May Starclan light your path, Oakstar...." I had murmured. I barely knew my father but I knew atleast that I had his jet black pelt with soft tabby, dark gray dapples in my soft, gorgeous, Interesting black fur. I had my mother's long legs and broad shoulders, with soft, but confusingly cold amber eyes.
Cherrykit had our father's short stocky legs and lean shoulders, with a sleek medium long tail. Cherrykit had unique blazing forest green eyes mixed with a touch of golden brown.
She had our grandmother's patience which totally didn't go well with my sharp replies, along with the impatience. I'm pretty sure that came from my mother.....
After we turned back from the vigil, it was soon time for Finchwhisker, the deputy of Ryeclan to travel out to the Moonlake and receive her nine lives. I begged to come with her but she just laughed and declined.
How rude.
I knocked Cherrykit's tail around, bouncing back and forth to catch the annoying thing as she lashed it back and forth. I was also the hyper and stubborn one.
Why does she lash this dumb tail so much?
Jeeze! Mouse dung I cursed as I missed her tail and went rolling down the gently sloping hill beside the nursery.
"Oooooowwwwww....." I groaned.
"You ok, Sapplingkit?" Cherrykit giggled as I laid on my head just blinking at her.
"I'm fine!" I called back and rolled over.
Mouse dung!!! Fox dung!!!! I cursed as I stared at the cats in the clearing giggling at me.
"What are ya looking at?" I growled and ran in the nursery to grumble.
When I found Meadowstreak in the nursery I grumbled even more.
New kits. Great.
I just laid in my nest, Glaring at Everything I saw.
"What's the matter, Sappingkit?"
Cherrykit pressed against me and lapped my ears obviously trying to comfort me. I purred and lapped her nose, wrapping
My tail around my littermate protectively, Laying my head on her side and slowly slipping into a doze.
As I awoke, the dawn light peeking into the nursery beaming into my eyes gently made me sneeze and push myself to my paws.
"I see you've awakened."
Finchstar laid at the Nursery, pressed against my shaking mother.
"What-" I was cut off in shock as I realized mother had no pupils.
"Fernstream........?"Finchstar jumped up and looked down at mother.
"I-i'm OK..."she murmured, her pupils slit but now where they were.
"Um......"I murmured in panic, staring at my mother.
"Run along now kits."Meadowstreak muttered, pushing me out of the nursery along with Cherrykit.
"Hey!!!"She growled and nipped at the air trying to buck Meadowstream's paw off of her, but Meadowstream successfully pushed us out of the den to scowl outside.
"Whatever...."I muttered and stomped to nowhere inside camp, at least in the shade to nap.
I soon slipped into a dreamless, soundless sleep.
