Chapter 1
The Vacation
It was a cool, sticky, summer evening in Long Island, New York and I was just getting up for his day of hard work.
I, David Merela, was an inventor. I used to work for a big inventor's company until I started to create things that was better than what the company was known for.
I was dressed in black sweat pants with a dirty t-shirt. My jet black curly hair a mess on top of my stocky frame. I yawned and arched my back.
"I got a lot to do today." I said to myself. Indeed I did I was going to spend 6 months in New York City.I immediately started to get dressed. I put on a black long sleeve shirt with an alien holding an assault rifle. It was one of my old creations I had managed to recreated moldable skin that hardens after 2 hours. I packed my bags and set off for the Big Apple.
In my suitcase I had packed two Beretta M9s(for safety purposes), jeans and sweat pants, shirts long sleeved and short sleeved, hoodies, hiking boots with spikes on the bottom(I'll explain that later),sneakers, hats, t-shirts, underwear, several cans of his moldable skin, an ax, a couple sheets of sandpaper, string bottles of bear glue, and a bunch of other essentials including as satchel.
I clicked on the news and was looking at the headlines.
"Zombologist will be testing a reanimation elixir on a graveyard in New York City."
I smiled "Good thing I brought weapons and moldable skin cans." I acknowledged. Truth be told I knew that the zombologist were going to test that elixir. After all I had helped them a little.
They had came knocking on my door asking for a small sample of his skin solution. I was confident about giving it to them. I knew that the materials it took to make the solution even the government didn't have access to. They told me it was for studies but I knew what it was really for. Besides what zombologist needs a skin solution and isn't going to use it for zombie experiments? I was finally going to find love in New York City and hopefully settle down. I was not going to let some zombie craving zombologist ruin his plans and if they did I would find the one who cleared the mission.
Chapter 2
The Outbreak
As I hopped into my car I glanced out my window. Looking at my house I sighed. I could see my obituary now 'David Merela mauled by zombie'. If I could help it that was not going to be the case. Starting the engine in my black 2010 Ford Mustang GT I pressed the gas pedal and sped off headed for NYC. As I drove I checked my ammo in my Beretta ARX 160 that I keep in my glove compartment. Fully loaded. I closed my glove compartment and sped onward. After about 15 minutes I stopped at McDonalds and grabbed a Big Mac and large fries with a Coca Cola.
While driving the 40 minute ride I munched on my food. When I ate one of my fries I glanced out of my window and almost couldn't believe my eyes. A biohazard truck was speeding right beside me.
Unbelieveable, had to be on the day I take a vacation, I thought. Part of me wanted to turn around and go home but I had weapons to defend myself when something went wrong. From that statement you probably think I'm a pessimist but I'm not. I knew something was going to go wrong because their elixir is red. If your elixir is red it means that whatever you test it on will have aggressive behaviors or explode and those zombologist will not let their elixir explode so something was going to go wrong. I caught an idea and slowed down until I was behind the biohazard truck.
"Koda." I called and a weird looking lemur hopped into the front seat.
"What can I help you with?" Koda asked scratching his head.
