When I was a real girl, I loved my sister.
We were inseparable.
We used sit in imaginary worlds for hours on end, pretending.
I was a fairy on Monday, a supermodel on Tuesday, and a starfish the next day.
In Nursery, we whispered about the others, and shared secrets like they were our most precious treasures.
In Reception, we were identical. We dressed the same, in prestigious uniforms. We tied our hair in bunches, and sat in silence, holding eachother by the hand. I remember, a small girl with red hair came up to us one day. It was snowy. The snowflakes clung to our eyelashes.
"It's time for our game".
The girl stared back at us, obviously confused."The'Which One is Crystal Game'!"
We shout in unison. The girl, stunned, said "How can I? You are both the same."
I could feel our hearts freeze, like the school yard did the night before.
"Guess."
"I don't want to."
"GUESS" We shouted.
"Okay okay!" She umms and aahs for a few seconds. She points her finger at me.
"You are Crystal!" She said.I wish.
