Noah's POV
The alarm goes off at its usual 5AM time. Being a 23 year old lawyer, my days are pretty hectic. I work from 9 till who knows how late. Depending on the case I may not sleep again until 3AM. I get up at five so I can fit my two-hour workout into my schedule. Today I have a very common case.
Divorce.
Mr and Mrs Grace obviously fucked up their marriage a lot. 20 years and then BOOM. They hate each-other and want a divorce almost immediately. There is nothing more I hate than a perfect marriage destroyed by decade-old secrets.
So I am kind of wishing I didn't have to go today. It would be easier for both them and me.
After my 2 hour workout, I get ready and call my driver Matty to come pick me up."Hello? Do you need me Mr. James?" Matty answers on the other end. "Come get me in about 15 minutes please." I ask him. He complies and we politely hang up. We're always polite. Everyones always polite.
I get sick of the shit sometimes. The politeness. I mean, it's really a whole lot of bullshit.
Being polite is being nice because you have to. I don't think that it should be like that...Just say what you goddamn feel and mean and life will be easier. A familiar knock on my door brings me out of my deep thoughts. I open the door to see Sarah.
Sarah is my personal assistant and unfortunately she's also my ex girlfriend. "Whats up Sarah?" I ask her. "Well I wanted to warn you that the couple you are about to work with has a very vivacious daughter." She smiles.
I roll my eyes and sigh. "I won't be needing your advice. And why does that matter?" I scoff. She crosses her arms and glares at me. "She's very flirty okay? I came to say so because... I don't know." She yells. I laugh and shut the door in her face to go manage my hair. I gel my light brown locks into a nice quiff.
I smile at myself, satisfied with my attractive look today.
Soon I hear the familiar beep of the Matty in the limo. I walk out gracefully, wanting to maintain the confident mojo."Hey Matty! Drive me to this adress please" I smile at my driver, handing him a slip of paper with the adress on it.
We arrive at a small suburban home in the outer area of the city. I look at it in wonder. It's not like I'm a snob, I've just never seen nor lived in a house like this. I always meet angry people with angry-looking houses.
I step out of the limo and thank Matty for the drive. My silver suit shimmers a bit and I take long strides up the pathway to their door.
The door knocker is shiny and golden and well kept. As is the garden behind me.
I tap out a steady beat on the door and wait for my client to answer. Instead, the door is opened by a beautiful woman. Only in her early twenties, I think. Long brown hair, tanned skin, eyes like the ocean. I am instantly intrigued by her.
"Hi, you must be the lawyer?" She greets me. I smile and nod. "Yeah, Noah James. At your service!" I joke.
She flashes a quick smile. I proceed to enter the house and the beautiful girl leads me to a room with a table and my two clients are waiting."Ah, Mr and Mrs Grace! Would you like to proceed with the meeting?" I state rather uneasy already.
"Oh, well if you just wait here we need to run out and grab something..." They respond."Uh okay... I guess i'll wait then." I respond, uncomfortable with the situation.
The couple leave me and the girl alone in the house. We sit in silence. Or rather, I sit in silence.
I can tell the girl wants to talk to me but by now I've figured out that this "woman" I admired is in fact my clients daughter. I sit awkwardly and tap my pen on the table. I glance over at the girl about 10 times.
"You don't want to look at me because you didn't realise I was their daughter, am I right?" The girl said.
She pouts and comes to sit near me at the table. "Its okay, I don't bite... much" she laughs. I smile and chuckle at her joke. Although I show her a glimmer of my more dominant confident side, I remain silent once again.
"Don't be silent. Silence is like being dead." She sighs. My eyes shoot up to hers. She laughs to remove the unsettling atmosphere she just brought on. "Kind of, but at the same time a loud voice and a quiet mind is a worse state of being." I smile.
Suddenly lips are on mine. Her lips. Harlee's lips. Funny thing is, I don't want to push her away. This girl's really beautiful, but it's hard not to forget exactly WHO she is.
What am I thinking? I push Harlee away and stand up abruptly. She laughs and steps back. Her dark hair falls onto her face and she smiles at me. "I'm sorry... I don't know what the hell that was. Forgive me? I'll go for a bit until the meeting is over to make you comfortable." She apologises.
I cough awkwardly. I swear I have issues. "It's fine. These things happen sometimes!" I brush the event off and she smiles before walking away. I sit alone at the table, my mind in re-run over what just happened.
Soon enough though, the divorcee's come back into the room and sit down for the meeting. "Sorry sir, let's continue" Clearing Harlee off my mind, I continued the meeting. "Mr Grace, what do you want to get out of this meeting?" I proceed.
"Peace and quiet, I need my wife to be my ex-wife. We're not happy anymore" Mr Grace tells me, his eyes empty and sad. "And Ms Grace? What would you like out of this?" I say gently. Ms Grace seems cold and distant.
Her eyes are glazed over like ice. Like all feeling has been drained from her. I can tell she's tired. But my job means I have to be pushy about this. "Mr James, I just want my old life back. But if that's not possible, I want full custody of my daughter." Ms Grace sighs.
"Alright, well I think it's best to proceed with these terms in binding contract. Now are you both happy with that arrangement?" I smile warmly at my clients, but in the corner of my eye I spot Harlee, getting food for her parents lunch.
I can see her butt as she leans into the fridge. I cough loudly to distract her parents as I realise I've got a very visible hard-on. "Um, do you have a bathroom I could use? I'm feeling a bit under the weather." I lie.
"Oh of course Mr. James! Down the hall, to the left" Ms Grace smiles. I begin to walk down the hallway and I see Harlee, blushing as she notices my bulging erection. In a moment where I lose my sanity, I grab Harlee by the waist and lift her against the wall.
We kiss and our tongues intertwine. I squeeze her as she wraps her legs around me. She rubs herself on my hardness and lets out a soft moan. "Shhhhh" I hush her, knowing her parents are just around the corner.
Somehow, knowing that we could be caught only forces me to continue. The kissing gets more passionate and the rubbing gets faster, and soon we both gasp in appreciation after a desperately withheld climax.
I look into her eyes and smile. She smiles too.
"My god, who are you?" I pant in admiration of her. She giggles quietly. "You'll find out" I gently put Harlee down and go to hide the evidence. After I've cleaned myself up, I go back out to Mr and Mrs Grace.
"Thank-you, I'm feeling much better now"
