When most people think of Dragons they think is a giant, scale-covered lizard that breaths fire and lives deep in a cave. What if someone told you that most people are wrong?

Hi. My name is Otha. I am a dragon. I walk among humans; I talk to humans; I even look like a human. But I am a dragon.

The first question one might have is:
"Where did you come from?"

It is said that there was once a Witchdoctor who had a son called Soreth. The Witchdoctor raised his son under the teachings of he ancient witches and sourcerers, teaching him spells and rituals that any Witchdoctor should know.

On the other side of things there was a High Priestess. She had a daughter called Syralth who was being brought up under the ways and teachings of God. The Priestess was said to be able to speak to angels to receive news from God and about the Heavenly Realm.

As the story goes, Soreth and Syralth met when the High Priestess and the Witchdoctor called and meeting to avoid conflict between the beliefs. The two had an instant attraction to one another. The continued seeing one another and eventually that small attraction grew into love. But there was one problem; the High Priestess refused to allow her daughter to marry someone who worshiped darkness. So, in secret, Soreth gave his life over to the light, swearing his allegiance to God Almighty. Soreth and Syralth were Married that very day. But little did they know, the darkness awaited them. The two of them went together to confront the Witchdoctor, who grew furious when he heard the news. So furious, he cursed them both. He said:

"For the traitorous act of abandoning your Prince for the Light, I the Witchdoctor, the messenger between Earth and the Powers of Hell, curse you! You will forever live in earthly flame, dependent on its heat to live! You will forever have two faces; one of scales and wings, sharp teeth and breath of fire; and the other of human resemblance, but with dragon's eyes and claw-like nails! You will always hunger for meat and blood, but only if it is fresh! I the Witchdoctor curse you, your children and your children's children; and and all of your descendants with this until the day I die! Also, to add a personal touch, I grant Syralth immortality; a seemingly glorious gift. But hear me out; Syralth will forever live young and healthy, however, she will be forced to watch you, Soreth, my only son, the traitor of the darkness, grow old and whither away like a dying flower! The curses which I have uttered forth will take immediate effect, only ceasing when I, the Witchdoctor and holder of immortality, die."

With this, the Witchdoctor disappeared. No one has heard from him, or knows where he went that day.

Filled with terror, The young couple quickly went to the High Priestess to see if she could reverse what the witch doctor had done. She tried everything, but to no avail.

Growing week, Soreth and Syralth went quickly to the nearest, hottest heat source they could find; a volcano. This is where they would live; this is where they would have to grow a family. Soreth, though he was fearful, look forward to the many years he would have with his beautiful wife; but Syralth dreaded the day that she would bury her beloved.

That is how we came to pass. Soreth and Syralth had children, they passed the story down and told them to make sure it was never forgotten. As the children grew they married other mystical creatures; fairies, trolls, wisps, werewolves, vampires and more. So there are very few full-blooded dragons left. Thankfully, I am one of them. One of five.

truthfully, I didn't realize how lucky I am to be one of the five until The Massacre.
