When your forever flees

The saddest tale is when a boy
Meets a girl and they fall in love
Become each other's sources of joy
A feeling that takes them high above
Only to be handed a stop sign
An order- cease and desist
For when the sun and stars align
Fate and the universe will resist
Left with love that's not meant to be
But with hearts that refuse to give up
They are torn apart brutally
A bloody mess left off to mop
And with hearts and dreams scared
Stitched up with mere apologies
Hope is futile when fate discards
False ideas and silly dreams
The question then comes to mind
Should we regret or wish to relive
The feelings left behind
What should we believe
When the thin line
Between love and hate is crossed
When what was once mine
Suddenly becomes yours
Envy and hatred creep in
Bitterness and negativity follow
Unforgiveness sits like a Queen
Creating inside an empty hollow
So why then will the universe allow
An impending disaster
To find love together now
And explode in heartbreak after
