The night before~

Ariana was on the bed, sleeping on her back, or rather trying to sleep. As she had recently developed a habit of reading books before going to bed, she was restless. But she had been told not to put strain on her eyes to avoid looking tired. Ridiculous it may seem, but she complied as it was just a matter of a day.

After twisting and turning for half an hour, she was just about to fall asleep when she heard the door to her room open wide. Nate and Alexa had entered with such ease and comfort as if they owned the room.

Ariana sat up straight and asked in a sleepy voice, "What are you two doing here this late?"

"Late?" asked Nate, in confusion, as he plopped on the bed. "It's just 11 pm."

"Oh, right. I forgot it's Alpha Nathaniel Astor I'm talking to," said Ariana with a yawn.

Nate immediately slapped Ariana on her arm, making her fully awake.

"Alpha?" questioned Alexa.

"Yeah, of course," replied Nate, handling the situation. "I told her to call me that. In fact, everybody should address me as an Alpha. Because have you ever seen a guy more alpha than me?"

"What?" Alexa was in shock for a while, then laughed in disbelief as she sat on the bed beside Ariana. "Tell me he's joking." She turned towards Nate and scoffed at him, "Tell me you're joking."

"I'm not joking. I repeat. Have you ever seen a guy more alpha than me?"

"Oh wow! He's doubling down! Oh my god. I can't believe I've been friends with a person this whole time who actually calls himself an Alpha. Not just that. He wants others to call him that, too. Just wow!" Alexa muttered to herself.

Meanwhile, Ariana was laughing silently, looking at Nate. "Sorry." She mouthed to him.

"Shut up." He rolled his eyes at her in reply.

Now fully awake and aware of the things happening around her, Ariana asked again, "Seriously, what are you doing here? You know I have to look radiant tomorrow. I can't have you disturbing my sleep and giving me eyebags."

"There's more to a wedding than these frills, Saoirse."

"Yeah." Alexa nodded in agreement.

"I know that. I've already accepted Sean from my heart, and I'm ready to be committed to him in every sense. Also, honestly, I don't think you two are fit to be giving me lectures about love and marriage." Ariana bit her lip as she concluded.

"In every sense?" asked Nate with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah!" answered Ariana as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "In health or in sickness or whatever there is to say in the wedding ceremony. You guys, I supported him when he thought he had cheated on me for god's sake- Why am I even explaining this again? You two are up to no good."

"In every sense?" Alexa put special emphasis on every word.

It finally dawned on Ariana the direction she was hinting towards.

"In. Every. Sen-"

"Stop acting like a teenager." She interrupted. "Does it suit doctors to use innuendoes to imply physical relations simply?"

"Does it suit doctors to use innuendoes to imply physical relations simply?" Nate mimicked her, amplifying the formalness in her voice. "Do you hear yourself? Oh thank goodness we came here, Alexa. She desperately needs us."

"Exactly. We're not here to giggle and whisper about sex, okay? We're here to share our experience and prepare you. And I was the one to teach you so many things, and this is how you disrespect me?"
