JACK'S POV:
I'm pulled in by the most beautiful dark brown eyes I'm interrupted by my thoughts. I hesitantly ask her for her name she opens her mouth slightly, but her eyes flutter shut, Sammy kneels down to me "ambulance is on there way make sure she doesn't fall asleep", he gets up and starts calling more people. "Hey don't fall asleep please" she chuckles "I really want to sleep" but then starts coughing up water I'm about to call Sammy but sirens flood into my ears. Sammy rushes over to me and picks her up before I can, Anger floods over me Sammy looks at me "you've done enough Jack" the anger turns into guilt as I tear my eyes away from her.
Sammy's POV:
After hours of laughing and talking with her I offer to go get some snacks and she accepts asking for chips. I walk up to the vending machine in the glare of the glass I can see a doctor approaching me, I turn around "Sammy is that right" I nod my head slowly "please hand these release papers to Cindy" I look down at the papers he holds and I tilt my head before speaking slowly to him "she's 16 doesn't she need parents or something" I grab the papers before he looks at me "she's emancipated" I nodded ignoring all the flooding questions going through my head that I wanted to ask but I let it go with a thank you to the white haired doctor. A few minutes and crumpled dollars later I got the chips and was heading to her room to find her scrolling though her phone, her features lit up by the dim light on her phone, I felt a sudden physical attraction to her that I couldn't brush off, ignoring it I tell her catch and she smiles wide before I toss the chips and she catches them. "Sammy you don't know how much I love you right now" I can't help but smile as she pours the bag into her mouth. As we sit In a comfortable silence as she signs her release papers I hesitate to ask about her parents, "soooo Cindy where are your parents" she stops writing and keeps a straight face on the papers "oh you know there're back at home, they probably made a phone call or something to the hospital I dunno" she continues writing, the comfortable silence quickly turns into an awkward one. "Hey I'm going to go change meet me by the exit okay?" I nod before I pick up my stuff and leave the room and wait for her by the entrance.
