Third Person POV
That City.
...
...
Voldemort was still standing at the edge of that building, watching the chaos unfold, as streaks of fire continued to rise into the sky, hitting more and more of his allies.
Feeling his death marks begin to fade with his allies falling one by one, it was mildly frustrating for him as he clenched his teeth, until he looked surprised at his hand upon noticing that Abraxas's mark had also vanished.
He could easily sense who might be dead when the mark disappeared near him, which made him even more frustrated as his gaze returned to the city in chaos, trying to find the culprit from there, but he couldn't see due to the distance.
"I'm going to kill that bastard!" Voldemort growled in fury upon realizing it, searching for any trace with his eyes.
After all, if his allies were dying, that would be terrible for his plans. He needed to conquer all of Magical Britain, and he would need the families with him. If he lost them, it would be a big problem — after all, he couldn't do everything alone, and fewer allies would even be dangerous for him at this moment, with other families turning their backs on him seeing their noble companions die like that.
As his gaze was focused forward, suddenly there was a noise below him as the buildings began to break. He looked surprised to see a black creature with shiny blue highlights, bear-shaped, emerging from the destroyed wall with some werewolves in its mouth, before crushing them with its teeth and tossing them with their mangled bodies, clearly dead.
Voldemort stared intently at the creature and began to see others approaching through the streets coming from that direction. Soon, more than fifty creatures were there, approaching the front of the building, and they stopped as they reached it, looking directly at him with their heads held high.
"What are these things?" he murmured, finally seeing those creatures, having killed one after being attacked and wounded by it — the creature had appeared hidden in the shadow of that dark wizard who had tried to warn him about the black creatures' attack.
At the same time, more shadows began to appear in his field of vision, and one clearly caught his attention — a huge snake emerging, slithering down the street, passing the soldiers and stopping in front of them, raising its head and staring directly at him before opening its mouth and growling with a sign of challenge.
Voldemort raised an eyebrow as a small snake began to slide out of his clothing. It was Nagini, the snake he had met in recent years and always traveled with him. She slithered up his arm near his hand, raising her head to look at the enormous serpent below after hearing the basilisk's growl.
"Ssssssss" Nagini hissed a few things in Parseltongue, and being a Parselmouth, Voldemort frowned — not at what Nagini had said in her language, saying that the creature was an ancient basilisk, but at what the basilisk itself had said.
"You dare challenge my king...?" Voldemort repeated the words the basilisk had growled, understanding its language.
"Challenge your king?" he repeated, sounding a bit stunned before becoming extremely angry. "Who is your king that dares challenge me, creature? I will kill him!" Voldemort responded in Parseltongue to the basilisk.
The creature became even more enraged and growled, responding directly to Voldemort, saying it would kill him for disrespecting its king — and called Voldemort an inferior and insignificant creature, which made the Dark Lord even more furious upon hearing that.
