I sit unpatiently as Elissa fixes my hair. I have been dating Grant for two months now and he has agreed to become my new escort. I haven't spoken to Jaymin the whole time either. I see him around, but he just looks away with an unreadable expression on his face. Tonight was the winter ball at the castle and Grant was taking me of course.

"Turn." Elissa comands and I look in the mirror. She and I are wearing the same ankle-lengthed dresses. Hers in white, mine in red. My hair is just black without the blue and I have toned my makeup down. There is a knock on the door where our escorts are. Mother has taken the rule away about dating escorts so that Grant and I will be together, bless her heart. I smile at Grant and he puts his mouth to my ear. "You are beautiful." he whispers and I blush. "Thank you." I whisper back.

We danced for a while, until he needed to use the restroom. "He's been a while. Why not check the courtyard." Jaymin's voice says from behind me. Something in me made me obey his comand and I made my way to the court yard.

There, in the middle was Grant kissing another girl. I let out a whimper and he looks at me with a smug smile on his face. I turn and run inside. I stop, my back to the wall and slide down. I close my eyes and let the tears trickle down my face. Footsteps echo of the tall ceilings but I don't care. My heart has been crushed. "You were right." I breath, knowing it was Jaymin who had stopped infront of me. "He was lying all along. You can say it now, say that you were right. Laugh in my face. J-" He cuts me off by pressing his lips to mine.

I didn't react right away, but I did punch him. "Don't sit here and kiss me, expecting me to kiss back! This is your fault! If you hadn't of pushed me away, then I wouldn't have tried to make you jealous and wouldn't have gotten so serious!" I scream at him before dashing out and into the garden.

Jaymin's point of veiw.

It's all your fault. It's all your fault. Her words rang through my head even after she had left. It almost hurt me to see her so sad. Wait! What am I saying? It's not like I have a THING for her. Do I? I ask myself. "Jaymin? Have you seen Amma? She ran by crying about an hour ago outside...Grant has been cheating. I can't find her!" Elissa's words peirce my brain. I grab my long jacket and run into the snow-white courtyard and into the garden.

"Amma! Amma!" I scream her name, running. Right there, at the edge of the forest, was a glass heart nestled in the snow. I grab it and run deep into the forest. Hours pass until I am finally ready to give up. Something in my heart seemed to be pulling me though. I looked once more and a flash of red caught my eye. I run to it and find Amma, half conscious, laying in the snow. "Jaymin." she whimpers and I pull her to me, opening my jacket. When someone is suffering from hypothermia, you must hold them and share the heat.

I hold Amma close to me, as I run. "Stay with me baby. Stay with me!" I yell. She groans and shivers a bit. I look down to find that her eyes are closed. I run into the castle. "FIND A MEDIC!" I scream franticly. I hold onto her until she is torn from my grasp.

"She is in a coma. She hit her head, you'll have to just keep your fingers crossed." The doctor states and I nod. The king is holding the queen's sobbing form in the corner. I look back over at Amma's lifeless form as her chest rises almost robotically. As if she is being made to breath. I put my head in my hands and let out a sad sigh.

ONE MONTH, TWO WEEKS.

Amma's pov

"Jaymin, we are Going to get some rest, we'll be here in the morning." My mother's voice suddenly brings me back from the "Black Hole" I had been traveling in. I could hear, but it was if my eyes were stapled shut. A warm prescense on my hand caused my eyes to crack a bit and Jaymin's form comes into view. "Jaymin?" I say, but my voice is hoarse. "Here." He breaths, handing me a small paper cup. I take a sip and look up to see tears rolling down his face. "wha...-?" I am cut off by his lips being pressed to mine.

Instead of punching him this time, I kissed him back. Someone clears their throat from the doorway and I see my parents smiling at us. "This is only the beginning." My momther whispers as she leaves. Jaymin chuckles before kissing me again. "I love you." He breaths against my lips and I gasp. "I love you too."
