~after the flight~
I walked off the plane, and took a deep breath as a smile spread across my face. Dakota and Lauren came off the plane a few seconds later, and we all walked into the air port and came out of the gate. Waiting there was Ben and Josh.
"TAYLOR! LAUREN DAKOTA!" They shouted as they ran towards us. We giggled and mocked them, "BEN! JOSH!" We spread out arms out waiting for hugs, and we ended up in a giant group hug. I mean, we haven't seen them in a year. After our big encounter with each other, we walked out of the air port to see a limo out front with Dakota, Lauren and I's name on it in big blue letters.
"A LIMO?!?" I said shocked.
"Yup. Pretty cool, huh?" Ben asked, with a big smirk plastered on his face.
"Definitely." I said back. We talked and caught up with Ben and Josh, and they told us about the camp. "Camp Rising Star isn't your regular camp. It's a training camp for people who are waiting to become an singer or who want to make it big to become an artist or something like that. It's kinda like college, but a guarantee you'll get a job.....basically." Josh said. "In the end, you have to compete against other people who want to do the same thing as you, and 25 people are chosen for a guarantee. For the people who don't get chosen they are auctioned off, and people try to get you to sign with them. Almost everyone gets a record deal. If you don't, then you stay another year and try again." Ben explains.
"That's so cool!" Lauren exclaims, and Dakota and I agree. Before we know it, we arrive at Camp RS. We step out of the limo, and the driver gives us our bags. I thanked the man, and looked around. One word can describe RS. BIG! It looks like a regular camp, but 10x larger, and they have a music room, with a giant stage in it, which I'm guessing is where we perform and stuff.
I realized I have no idea where I'm so I look around for my friends, but they all seem to have left me."Ugh. Some friends they are..." I grumbled.
"Hey, you seem a bit lost...you need some help?" A male voice asks me. I turn around, and a boy with blonde hair and captivating blue eyes stood before me. Wow, he was really cute. He smiled, at me, and I smiled back.
"Uh, yeah, it's my first year here, and my friends sorta left me." I told him. "Oh sorry, I'm Taylor Mace." I said putting my hand out for him to shake.
"I'm Jack Johnson" he smiled, shaking my hand. For a second we just stood there, shaking hands and smiling at each other. In the middle of RS.
"Uh, L-lets um get you to your cabin. Can I see your schedule?" He asked me. I gave him my schedule, and he smiled.
"We share a cabin." He told me, and J grinned.
"Cool. I didn't know they had boys and girls paired up for roommates." I said.
"Yeah, they don't normally. But there weren't enough guys to be paired up with guys, so they had to pair a few girls up with two guys" Jack explained to me.
"Oh okay. Who else is in the cabin with us?" I asked him.
"Shawn Mendes" he said. My jaw dropped. Shawn Mendes was my hero...my inspiration. He's the reason I decided to pursue my dream in the first place.
"Oh don't tell me your a fan," he said with a worried expression.
"I am. Is there something wrong?" I asked confused.
"Just don't show it too much....Shawn might go a bit crazy. He doesn't like crazy fan girls or whatever. Just to warn you, Shawn's not a very nice guy. Lucky for you, you got me too. Shawn and I have been good friends since I can remember, so I know how to handle him. I got your back," he told me. Shawn. Not a nice guy?
"Wow....I can't imagine Shawn being anything but nice. He seems so sweet and down to earth in his interviews...I can't imagine him being rude." I say slightly shocked.
"Yeah, that's what most girls think of him," Jack explained as we walked up the steps to our cabin. He opened the door, and there Shawn was sitting on his bed with his guitar, madly scribbling in a notebook. He looked up, and then smiled at Jack. When he saw me, his smile turned into a frown.
"Who are you?" Shawn asked me in a rude tone.
"I'm Taylor, now what makes you think you can talk to me that way?" I asked him.
"Uh-well...." He said sorta shocked.
"Exactly what I thought," I said, taking a seat on my bed.
"What makes you think you can talk to me that way?" Shawn asked me, giving me a glare.
"I do what I want, when I want," I said.
"I could say the same to you," Shawn replied, going back to strumming his guitar and humming. He must be writing a new song.
"Hey Tay, you need some help unpacking?" Jack asked me.
"Yeah, I could use some help actually." I said, opening up my 3 suitcases. What? I AM gonna be here for 4 years you know.... Jack began to help me unpack, and by the time we were finished it was almost noon.
"You wanna go on a walk?" Jack asked me.
"Sure, why not?" I replied. We walked out of the cabin, and suddenly, the door swung open, hitting the back of my head. I tumbled down the steps, and onto the ground.
"Oh my gosh, Tay, are you okay?" Jack asked me, running down the steps, kneeling down on the ground next to me.
"Yeah, I think so," I said. Jack helped me up, and gave Shawn a glare.
"Oops...sorry," Shawn said, a big smirk painted on his face. What a jerk. It's obvious he did it on purpose. I can already tell this is gonna be a longggggg 4 years.
