3rd Person P.O.V
It was like any other June morning for Elizabeth Scott; wake up at 6 am, go for a jog with her dogs, eat, shower, get ready for work, work, and go to the pool.
"Dad!" She shouted, "I'm going to the pool."
"Be safe honey!" He shouted back from his office. Why did he think she was helpless? She's turning sixteen this fall.
"Be good." She pointed to all of the stray dogs she rescued. They were like her friends, matter a fact they were her best friends. Sure she had 'friends' at school, but they were only because they were partners in group projects or presentations.
She unlock her classic bike, which she had gotten for her 15th birthday. She rode through her 'small' town that was located just outside of Boston. She had just pulled up to the community pool when she saw a 2016 Mustang, a red one with black stripes. That meant Raymond Reddington was working today.
She groaned loudly, she was pretty much the only person in this town that hated him. All the girls fell head over heels for him. He had blue-grey eyes, platinum blond hair, a boyish grin, and a body that pretty much every girl could be caught staring at. It didn't help that he was a straight A student, and was the quarterback for the towns high school, and was one of the wealthiest people in town.
Thankfully there were a lot of people here today for her sake. She hated being watched, she liked to blend in, which was very hard considering her personality and past.
By God it was hot, highly unusual for Massachusetts in June. It was so hot she finally had to get in the pool. Where her 'enemy' was watching. The gate slammed, and two blond hair blue-eyed girls strutted in. Brittany and Ashley, you can guess by their names that they were the popular cheerleaders. Most people here were high schoolers with their smaller siblings, and immediately dragged them out trampling over Liz.
She was dunked under, stomped and crushed on by people's feet. Black dots were forming in her vision and her arms were flailing around her trying to get somebody's attention. She was going to die, at least that's what she thought until a pair of strong arms lifted her out of the water and pulled her on the concrete.
"You call 911, you get a towel, call her dad!" Some guy ordered.
"My..M-my eyes." She muttered hoarsely trying to block the sun out of her face.
She felt someone lay a towel over her eyes, "Shh Lizzie its gonna be alright."
She recognized that voice, the one day she almost drowned the lifeguard was Reddington! 'Ridiculous!'She thought to herself.
She sat up only to be pushed back down. "I'm fine."She snapped getting annoyed. She wasn't a helpless four year old.
"Your fine, oh really now, if it wasn't for me you would have died " He shot back sarcastically.
"If it wasn't for Hansen and Trombley (Pretty in Pink names☺️) none of this would have happened." Liz argued.
He just laughed, "You're a feisty one aren't you Scott?" She just nodded, her head was starting to pound from being under water for so long.
*****************
Liz's P.O.VI woke up surrounded by white, just plain white. I turned to my right, no one was there, then to my left was a snoring teenage boy.
"Reddington?" I screamed.
"O-oh hey Lizzie how are you feeling?" He asked causally like we were best friends.
I laughed ludicrously. Was he crazy? We never had said hi once...I repeat once, and he shows up in my hospital room like it's nothing.
"Oh just fantastic." I said sarcastically rolling over to the other side
I heard a chuckle and the chair squeak, then next thing I know it he's looking into my eyes. I turn back to the left side. "Lizzie I can play this game all night." He retorted playfully.
I groaned and flipped back to him, "Why are you here?" I snapped. He crossed his legs like he was such a gentleman. "Well after all I did just save your life so I would like to spoken to nicely.-"
I rolled my eyes, "Cut the crap."
He just gave me a grin that could melt your heart of stone, but not mine. This time he groaned."Can't I be a little worried about you? You blacked out after we had our little argument, I've been here not moving from this bedside for the last 14 hours."
"You've never once acknowledged me now after I have a near death experience you care." I spat.He looked down, looking almost ashamed, "I know, I'm sorry." He said just below a whisper."I guess I've been a jackass from kindergarten." He admitted.
He laughed at that part. Which caused me to quietly giggle. "See there's a nice Lizzie."
"Don't call me Lizzie, it's Liz, Elizabeth, or Scott." I instructed meanly.
He put his hands up in the air surrendering, "Sorry, sorry. If you don't mind me asking did your mother call you Lizzie?" He asked, I just nodded, tears threatening to spill.
"Oh my God, sorry I'm such an idiot, forget I asked that." He rushed out.I turned away to wipe my wet eyes.
"It's fine." I gave a half smile. We talked for a few more minutes until my dad came in. Red got up silently knowing my dad would want to talk to me alone.
"Liz I told you to be careful, next thing I know I'm getting a call from one of your classmates saying that you almost drowned!" He scolded, I just nodded best thing in these situations is to stay quiet and just nod. "Please don't do that to me ever again, I lost Kat and I can't loose you." He said crying, I leaned up and hugged him. "Don't worry Im not going to die anytime soon Dad."I assured him.
He sat down on the edge of my bed while we sat in a comfortable silence until he perked up. "So what's the deal with that Reddington kid?"He asked going into over protective 'Daddy Mode'
."Nothing he just saved me from dying." I tried to assure him, but a mysterious blush appeared across my cheeks.
He raised his eyebrows at me, "If I didn't know better I would think he likes you." I rolled my eyes (my signature thing), "Puh-lease Dad we haven't talked ever, like ever." He just looked from Reddington to me. "Well I know I'm right; if you feel the same way...Try to stay quiet and use protection." He teased. I mustered up all the strength I had to slap him in the arm.
"I'm kidding I'd never let you get close to him, just look at his father, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, just be careful sweetheart."
"What's so bad about his dad? You've never told me." I retorted my curiosity getting the best of me. He got up and turned around, "It's not my place to tell you sweetie, get some rest."
