It's the summer after my senior year, my friend and I have just graduated from high school. We bought a place out in the country with 10 acres, we are free and have plenty of room to do as we please.
On this wonderful hot, Oklahoma summer day my friend Alana Strong is out getting groceries, I decided to stay back and work on cleaning the house for the birthday party we're having for our friend Kyo tonight. She has been away for a while and we want to surprise her.
Just as I'm walking down the hall toward the kitchen I hear a knock on the door.
"Delivery for Sky Rivers", came a young female voice.
I open the door to a smiling blonde woman a few years older than me. I sign for the package and close the door. There was no return address. I open the envelope to find a note that reads:
Sky,
As you can tell, I know where you live. I know your secrets: I know everything about you there is nothing I don't know. I have been following you, I know your strongest weakness and I will get to you.
This letter was written to warn you, everywhere you are. I am. Be on guard and watch your back.
-B.W
I throw the note on the table and quickly pick up my phone and call Alana.
"Alana," I said quiet yet frantic when she picked up the phone.
"Yeah. Sky what's wrong?" Alana asked, worry in her voice. "And don't lie to me, I can tell something is wrong."
"Just get here ASAP, and be careful," I say then hang up.
I turn on the radio to drown out the silence. Just then Alana walks in.
"Ok. Now, what on earth is going on?!" Alana practically yelled when she walked in. "What was so important that I had to speed the last two miles for."
I tossed her the note and said "Read this." I could tell by the look on her face that she was both shocked and upset. After she read the note she crumpled it up to nothing and threw it into the trash.
"I'm gonna go make a phone call, you stay here in the living room," Alana said and stomped off to her room.
Just then my phone goes off, I cautiously answer it. "Hello."
"That envelope is not empty, look deeper inside," came a male voice from the other end.
"Who the hell is this and what do you want from me?"
"You know exactly who I am and what I want. Now do as I said." Then nothing.
I slowly walk over to the table where the envelope sits and cautiously look in the bottom. There, laying in the bottom of envelope was the gold chain I lost the day before at the local pool. I dropped everything and stumbled backward just as Alana came out.
"What the...." She began as she saw the chain on the ground. "Okay," she said "This is worse than I thought. Here take this duffel bag, you got 30 minutes to pack whatever you need and can fit in here. Put whatever you need in your purse our ride will be here in 20, go!!!"
"What, okay," I said and quickly ran down the long hall with the black duffel bag in hand.
Once in my room lined with pictures of anime, friends, family and my favorite bands I begin to quickly fill up the duffel bag. I open the drawers to my wooden dresser and begin packing all of my shirts, shorts, jeans and other clothing items that I would need on a daily basis. There was some extra room so I grab my writing notebook, some pencils and pens, and a book. I have no idea how long I'm going to be gone, or even where I am going.
I quickly put the bag on my neatly made bed, and dig into my closet for my purse. I dig into the pocket of my jeans and grab out my keys, which contained the key to my safe.
I have a hundred thousand dollars put away for emergencies that nobody knew about, not even my parents. I figured this would be considered an emergency. I shove some in my purse and the rest of it went into my duffel buried among my clothes. I had been saving money ever since my junior year, and when my grandparents passed away they left me a thousand dollars, as well as did my great grandparents. I sigh at the thought of my loved ones who have passed on to the other side, oh how I missed them.
I quickly run to the bathroom to grab the last few things that I would need for the trip to come. Just as I enter the bathroom, I hear the doorbell ring.
Alana speeds past me toward the door. "I got it! We leave in ten, finish up!" she yells as she begins to slow down and answer the door.
I slowly turn back to the shelves in the bathroom, "Okaay. Almost done!" I hollered back. I quickly grab the rest of my stuff out of the bathroom and took them to my room. I shove what's left into the duffel bag.
I suddenly remembered a couple of things that I refused to leave behind, not knowing if I would return. I walked over to my desk and opened the drawer. Inside was the box that contained a necklace and a bracelet from my first true love, Eric Weathers.
I take out the black and teal beaded necklace with a teal and gold pendent and run my fingers across the pendent. As I do this I travel back in time to the month that I first seen his face and we met.

It was a Wednesday afternoon in March of 2011, my friend Alana had come over after school. We were going to church that night and had some time to spare before we met up with the gang.
She was on facebook showing me pictures of her new house when she said that there was someone that I should meet. That is when I saw him.
My heart skipped a beat and my jaw dropped at the sight of him. The way his midnight black hair fell just over his face. His eyes as blue as the sky, his body just the perfect tan. I couldn't help but stare.
Alana saw the look on my face and she knew what was going through my mind. She suggested me as a friend for him. The next day I had a friend request from him, and we began talking......
.......................................................................................................
"Sky, are you done yet?!?!" I heard Alana yell and I snap out of my daydream.
"Yeah, sorry coming." I reply as I grab my things. I shove the box in my pocket and grab the picture of my family and put it in my purse.
When I get into the living room, there is nobody there. I walk outside, that is when I see him.
The moment it registers that it is really him standing by his car, I drop everything. He is standing there, the one I thought I'd never see again......Eric.
