It was some time since you last spoke to Karkat, which just so happened to be the moment you confessed your undying love to the stubborn troll. You decided it was best if you played it cool and casually asked him if he wanted to watch some romantic comedies with you that night. You shuffled toward the couch that the black-haired male was slouching on.
"Excuse me, Karkat? I was wondering if you would like to accompany me in watching some rom-coms...this evening..." you murmured.
He turned his head ever so slighty and studied you with scarlet orbs. "I guess that would be okay, (Y/N)."
You flashed him a wide grin, before putting the DVD into the DVD player. "It's all set!" you exclaimed, sitting next to the relaxed male.
As the movie was starting to escalate to its climax, you noticed the troll that was sitting next to you began blinking slower and slower each time, indicating that he was tired. You couldn't help but smile at how adorable he looked and leaned closer to him. "Karkat, are you getting sleepy?" you asked softly.
"Yeah..." Karkat said, his voice barely above a whisper. The troll groggily moved further towards you and rested his head on your chest. "So soft....Goodnight, (Y/N)~" he purred, smiling slightly.
You barely managed to form the word 'night' back to him as he fell asleep against your stiffened form. Soon after, your body finally started to relax as you slipped your fingers into his somewhat tangled hair and played with it. "I wish you would hurry up and fall in love with me..." you blurted out suddenly, before biting your bottom lip gently. As it was expected, you received no reply.
