The Woodville family had always been successful, they first made their money from gold, then precious metals, then oil, then gas, then solar. They were always ahead of the technological curve and the value of the company was into the trillions.
The year was 2112 and humans had advanced from the dependency on oil to the hydrogen economy, they had also taken a keen interest in outer space. Near geo-stationary orbit had become valuable real estate property and large companies invested in exclusive integrated resorts for the unimaginably wealthy. Two months ago 'Woodville Industries' opened the new 'Orbit Hotel,' featuring revolutionary technology. Carbon fibre cables tethered the resort from bases on Earth and ion engines kept the station parallel with the rotation of the planet. Unfortunately, one tiny detail was overlooked...
