"You don't have to go, Edd" Kevin said with a desperate voice and pleading eyes as Edd was putting the last of his stuff in a suitcase in his room.

"Kevin, you knew for a while I was going to London. I can't do anything" Edd said while he was trying to hold back tears.

"I don't want you to go" Kevin admitted sadly.

"I'll write to you and I'll call" Edd tried to smile to best he could to Kevin.

"Don't say that. I don't want an empty promise. I want you" Kevin said with desperation all over his face.

Edd turned back to his suit case and zipped it.

"I don't know what I can tell you" Edd's bottom lip quivered.

"Just don't go. I love you so much" Kevin said in almost a whisper.

"You knew I was leaving before summer started. You didn't have to get into this" Edd tried to put on a brave face but Kevin could see in his eyes he was dying.

"But I wanted you. I still do. Don't do this. Go to school here and stay with me and we can get an apartment together and spend our lives together" Kevin tried to convince.

"Kevin, this was just meant for the summer. We both know that"

"I never wanted it for the summer, Edd! I wanted you for the rest of my life! And now you're leaving. You'll move on and I'll be left here. I can't to that Edd, I can't" Kevin was close to breaking down.

"We are sixteen years old. You have a lot of women I bet you would love to date and I have six years of London then I'll be back. When we are twenty-two and both single I would absolutely love to get back together with you. I don't want to hold you back from dating other people" Edd reasoned.

"No! Don't you understand with that big mind of yours? I love you and only you and I can't see my life with anyone else! And damn it I wish I had the money to go to London with you but I can't and that kills me!" Kevin finally let a tear fall.

Edd broke down in Kevin's arms as a sobbing mess.

"I will really miss you. We have so many good memories that I will hold onto but I can't stay" Edd cried.

To think, a simple boy could make Edd not want to go to his dream school in London. He would give that all up for his old bully.

Kevin started crying into Edd's hat.

"No. Don't- don't leave me. I'll be so alone"

"You are popular and have so many people around you to hang out with"

"That's not what I mean. I'll be mentally alone without you"

Edd was about to reply to Kevin's sad comment when he heard a shout from the living room from where they were in Edd's bedroom.

"Edward! The car is here to take you to the airport!" It was Edd's mother calling him down.

"I- I have to" Edd felt a tear roll down his cheek.

Kevin grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug.

Both teens stood in each others embrace for a few minutes as sobs escaped both of their lips.

"Edward!" Both boys heard from downstairs.

Edd grabbed his suitcase and walked out of the room, Kevin following close behind.

As Edd got to the bottom of the stairs his mother and father pulled him into a hug.

"I know it's exciting getting to a new country but school works comes first" Edd's father said.
