*TOM'S POV*

Today was the day Emma and her team were competing at a Championship dance competition. All week Emma had been at the theatre practicing her routine making sure it was perfect, most the time I had to remind her to eat, go to bed, come home, she was stressing over them but she told me the stress is worth it.

I was back stage helping her get ready (Swipe to find the costume), she had a stunning costume for her lyrical routine; I had no idea what song she was going to dance to or what the routine looked like. Her teacher told me that she never went by a routine plan, she always just went on stage and did her own thing.

"Are you stretched?" I asked her.

She nodded. "I got this," She told me. "I'm pretty confident."

"Aw how sweet, the little Barbie doll is confident," A brunette girl teased as she came into the room; She was tall, very slim and was wearing tap shoes.

Emma sighed. "Hello Sophie," She greeted bitterly. "I thought you'd kicked championships in the butt when you didn't place last year?"

Sophie scoffed. "You were lucky I got injured last year or you'd have lost!" She sneered then looked. "Oh I see you've brought some support, he's your adopted Daddy right?"

"Back off Sophie, this is between you and me!" Emma snapped. "Leave my family out of this!"

Sophie smirked. "See you out there squeak," She told her and left.

Emma sighed and sat on the chair next to me. Well who the hell was she?

"What's happened between you two?" I asked softly.

"We used to be partners when we were kids," Emma began. "My coach Kelly constantly compared us, made us go head to head every competition, we would have different routines, sometimes she would come first or I would. Anyway a few years ago we were going head to head I danced my routine perfectly then it was Sophie's turn she was half way through then she froze on stage, she ran off and went to the dressing room, she blamed me. Sophie told me it was my fault she messed up, usually she goes on before me but not that time, she accused me of trying to freak her out and making her nervous. Kelly was furious with her and kicked her out the dance company."

I frowned. "Emmy none of that was your fault," I told her honestly. "It was Sophie that forgot her routine, you were just being yourself."

She shrugged. "She was my best friend then, now she's my biggest enemy." She told me. "And I have to beat her, somehow... Her specialty is tap, she always beat me in tap."

I wrapped my arm around her. "Emmy you've got this, just feel the music and do what you do best," I told her.

Emma smiled. "I have an idea!" She announced then hugged me. "Thanks Dad, I'll see you later!"

I smiled as she skipped out the dressing room; My fingers were crossed. I stood up and went out to the audience, where my Mom and Sisters were waiting.

*EMMA'S POV*

I ran up to the side of the stage where one of the stage managers were standing sending the younger dancers on, I poked my head out a little and saw thw big trophy next to the judges; It feels amazing when they call your name as first place and they hand you that trophy!

I looked at the Stage Manager. "Erm excuse me but can I ask you something?" I asked him.

"Sure kid what is it?" He asked.

"In the rules does it say anything about playing videos as a back ground?" I asked.

The man frowned and pulled out a book and began flicking through it. "It doesn't say anything about it in the book so I guess you can use them," He told me.

I smiled and quickly wrote the video on youtube next to my name on his clip board. "Thank you!" I told him. "Don't play the music just the video!"

I headed back stage and stretched a bit more, Danny and a few of the lads came round as my support. They were giving me a little pep talk; show emotion, feel the music, look at the judges and have fun.

"Still got your protection I see?" Sophie asked as she came up to me with a bunch of girls.

I sighed. "Back off Sophie, none of us want to cause a scene," I told her. "This is a dance competition not a battle field!"

"Yeah well when you get on that stage you won't have your boys to protect you," She sneered.

I scoffed. "I've been through hell, I can handle myself!" I told her sternly.

Sophie and her friends strutted off to her wing, waiting to go on. I went to the opposite wing and watched her smooth down her costume; She was my best friend and all because she forgot her dance she was now my enemy! I watched the other girls in the my category dance, some were amazing, others weren't so good. Everyone knew me, I held a two year championship title and today I was going for a third year.

"Here is Sophie Ball dancing to 'Candy Man'!" The stage manager announced.

The song Candy man by Christina Aguilera played. I enjoyed watching her tap routines, she was amazing at it sure I did tap too but I was never brilliant at it. Sophie finished with a cheeky pose, a wink and strutted off the stage, her friends hugged her tightly. I took a breath I was next;  I nodded at the stage managers.

"Here we have Emma Hiddleston- Swan dancing to 'In my arms'," The Stage Manager announced.

I walked on to the stage and stood as far back from the edge as possible, my back was pressed against the curtain, the light in front of me turned on; The video was being played.

*TOM'S POV*

I watched Emma walk to the back of the stage, suddenly a pictured appeared on the curtain appeared (SWIPE TO THE VIDEO) it was clips from Thor!

"Is she allowed to do that?" Sarah asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know!" I told her.

The music was beautiful, she danced softly, her tricks were clean and sharp, her face just made me want to cry, her leaps were flawless. Emma was gorgeous, I could see the little tears in her eyes. When the song ended and Emma sat on the floor hugging her knee's looking at the judges... Everyone stood up clapping for her.

"WELL DONE EMMY!" I shouted and began to head back stage.

I was running past the other parents and kids then I saw Emma walking with the boys, she saw me and smiled brightly at me, she sprinted down the corridor and dived into my arms.

"You were amazing, so beautiful!" I told her and kissed her head. "You had a standing ovation!"

"Seriously?" She asked.

"Yes, you were stunning!" I told her. "Come on, I believe you have a group dance to do?"

We went back into the dressing room and the team began to get ready for the group dance!
