"Why did you do that?!" Ben yelled at Mal. During one of his meetings, Mal had come in and joined. Noticing that the dwarf, Grumpy, wasn't being completely honest in what he was saying and was manipulating Ben, she told him to speak honestly or leave. Grumpy didn't react well and started ranting on and on about how disrespectful the women-folk were these days. Ben ended up agreeing with Grumpy then they left the room and started fighting.
"Because he wasn't being honest! I know when people are lying, Ben!" Mal replied. Even though she wasn't yelling, she was mad and her voice was raised.
"No, he wasn't! He was telling me how it was. And that part about women being disrespectful, yeah, that is true about you right now." he told her. "I guess I never should have expected you to actually be nice for a change. After all, you're a villain." he said. As soon as he said it, he regretted it. But he didn't take it back, he didn't know why though. He just wanted to win this fight and go to bed. Mal had always been sensitive to being called a villain after the coronation. She really didn't like it when Ben called her a villain even though this was the first time.
"Fine. I'll leave since I'm just a villain." she replied. She walked out of the room but on her way out, she grabbed the necklace Ben had given her a year ago on their one year anniversary and threw it at Ben's feet. She ran down the hall and outside. She ran down the streets and to the apartment she used to share with Evie. She shut the door before she started crying. Ben stared at the necklace Mal had thrown at his feet. He had told her that the stone used to make the heart charm was magical and as long as she truly wished it to happen. He walked over it, not stepping on it, and exited her room and went down the hall to his own. Maleficent, still a tiny lizard, crawled over to the necklace. She sniffed it and rolled her eyes.
"I wish he would just turn into a cold hearted man. Someone who hates everything and everyone he comes across. Wouldn't that be beautiful." she said. Being evil, she meant it. As she crawled out of the room, the stone lit up then turned dark. Ben, walking down the hallway, suddenly stopped as he felt something take over his mind and change the world before him. His brain processed everything as terrible and he hated it all. As he thought more about his and Mal's fight, the more he realized she was the stupid one. He was the King and she was just a villain. Why did he even like her? His heart knew that everything his mind thought and saw wasn't true but his mind wouldn't believe it. Right now, it had control of him over his heart. And that was something Ben didn't like.
