Ben was beyond confused. He had no idea why she would think he'd hurt her or why he was at the lake. Mal was starting to wonder if it had really worked or if he was just messing with her. She hoped it had worked but she didn't want to get her hopes up.
"Did it work?" she asked. Ben shrugged. He didn't know what she was talking about. "Do you love me?" she asked.
"Yes! Mal, what's going on? First you say I'm gonna hurt you then you ask if I love you." Ben replied.
"You turned into a Beast because of my mom and hated me. You hated everything." Mal told him. She decided leaving out the hurting part was best.
"What about me hurting you?" he asked.
"You might have hurt me once or twice." she mumbled in response. Ben hugged her tightly and she hugged him back.
"It won't happen again as long as I'm in control." he promised. Mal nodded, happy to have her Ben back instead of the Beast Ben. They arrived back at the castle and everyone was surprised at how Ben had changed. They hadn't learned that he had become a Beast but they were glad he was back. So now you can say they had their happily ever after.
