Love Is Blind

Chapter 1

It was another boring saturday afternoon & I had no plans or nothing to do.My phone had no text or calls & I hated being the one to hit someone up first because it always seemed like I was bothering the person.  

I sat on the couch & turned on the tv scanning thru the channels to see whats on.My favorite show was on & it was a all day marathon.

This is turning out to be a pretty ok saturday. I was sitting there watching tv laughing my butt off then my phone went off. I looked at the caller ID & it was my girl Novisha.  

"Hello." I picked up.  

"Hey Kendra girl what you doing?" She asked.  

"Nothing. Just watching my show." I said back.  

"Dont tell me its Martin." She said in a flat tone.  

"Yes! Problem?" I asked in a sharp tone with a little attitude.  

"Who you think you talking to?" She asked then we both started laughing.  

"You." I said giggling.  

"Whatever. You doing anything today?" She asked me.  

"No. I was planning on watching Martin all day. What about you?"  

"Noo, I'm so bored lets go do something."   "Oh so you only want to call me when your're bored huh?" I laughed.  

"Not true." She said laughing too. "But can we please go out & do something?" She asked.  

"Ok but what?

I need to know how I'm gon dress. I don't want to dress up all cute just to go see a movie." I said.  

"Ugh ok well lets go to the mall." Says Novisha.  

"Ok I'll be ready in 15." We ended our call & I ran upstairs into the bathroom & took a quick 10 minute shower, then got dressed in my dereon shorts & my long sleeve hoodie. Just my style.  

10 minutes after I got dressed there was a knock on my door. I ran down stairs & opened the door & laughed in my head. I just knew she was gon be late but I'm not tripping. I locked up the house & walked & got in her car then we headed off to the mall.  

"Ooh lets go to Victoria secret I got to get something sexy to wear for my boo." Says Novisha.

We went in Victoria's & was in there for about a half hour. She was trying to find something perfect.

We left out $100 broker than we were when we went in there.   We walked around window shopping for like a half hour before my stomach started talking.

"Girl I am starving." I said.   "Come on." She said heading toward the food court.

We went to Shoyo Japan my favorite place to eat at in the mall. I ordered some chicken & beef stir fry & Novisha gets her some.. Well I dont know what it is.  

"What is that?" I asked.   "Sushi." She said. I gave her a confused look. "Raw fish with rice."

I literally almost threw up.   "That's disgusting."  

"How do you know, you tried it?" She asked.   "No but its raw fish thats how I know." I said laughing.   We sat & talked while we ate our food.

After we finished we decided to let our food digest a little before getting up.

Novisha started going on & on & on about her man talking about how amazing he is & how much she loves him & i was just sitting there like where is my Mr. Right.   I'm happy for her though. She's been through alot having going to foster care & all.

Her dad left her mom when she was only 5 & after he was gone her mom just stopped caring for her.

Novisha would go days without having anything to eat & oneday at only 6 she tried to use the stove & ended up leaving the rag on the stove & burned the whole house down.

Thank goodness she knew to run outside.

She ened up with a foster family & has been with them every since & everything has been good.She has good grades, a great boyfriend & a family who loves her. A perfect life.  

Now me on the other hand, my parent don't even talk. They wont even look at each other anymore. all they do is work, come home & sleep. I'm glad I learned my way around the kitchen at an early age or I'll starve to death.  

"You ready." She asked pulling me out of my thoughts.   "Yeah come on." I got up & tossed out my trash. We walked around & this time ended up in a store of my choice, Eblens.

We were joking around & trying on all these things we knew we couldn't afford. As I was holding up a dress looking at myself in the mirror I can feel someone staring at me. The feeling was weird I wasn't really use to it but I just ignored it.  

"Dont look now but I think the cashier is checking you out & he's cute." Novisha said.   I froze up nervously because I wasn't use to guys looking at me.

I grabbed the first cute shirt I seen & pulled out the last $20 I had in my pocket & walked over to the register. I really didn't want to spend this but I needed an excuse to see his face & man was he cute.

The picture I got in my head of him resembled tupac & he had a cute smile. I handed him the money & looked down.  

"Excuse me." He says. I looked at directly into his eyes & he was looking

back at mine smiling at me. "This shirt is $25 & you only gave me $20." I put my head down.  

"Omg I'm so embarrassed." I tried grabbing the shirt from him but he pulled it back.  

"I gotchu." He said. I looked at him & smiled.  

"Thank you." I said.

 "You welcome but now you got to do something for me." He says.  

"Like what? Just so you know I'm not that type of girl." He smiled a little harder.  

"Calm down biter." He said laughing. "I just wanted to know if I can have your number."

Oh gosh again i was so embarrassed I need to start thinking before I talk.

He pulled out his phone & I gave him my number then left with that shirt & the $20 I didn't want to spend.  

Novisha & I left the mall & went back to my house & watched tv & talked.

She was more happy about me giving that guy my number than I was & I don't blame her because before today I would have never given any guy my number.

But I must say I was nervous & my stomach was telling me that he wasnt going to call & it was almost 7. We watched tv & fell asleep waiting on his call.
