Escape from Reality

Prologue

"It's a girl!" The doctor said with a smile. He quickly handed the little girl to the nurse to clean her up.

"She's beautiful Ava." Alpha Keith smiled down at his tired Luna.

"Here you go. Congratulations Alpha and Luna on your beautiful pup." The nurse slowly handed the newborn to her excited mother.

Ava smiled brightly at her little bundle of joy. "Hey baby. I'm your mommy. I've been waiting for you to come out. I'm so happy to meet you." She softly kissed her pup's forehead.

"She has your hair." Keith softly stroked his new daughters light brown hair.

"I hope she has your eyes." Ava smiled. "I can't wait for her to open them."

The new pup snored softly in her mother's arms.

Ava carefully passed the little girl to her father and yawned.

"Sleep baby. This little one isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I'll make sure of it." He kissed his Luna softly. "Sleep. We'll be here when you wake up." Ava nodded and fell asleep instantly.

Keith looked down at his new pup. "You'll will be a strong wolf. You have Alpha blood running though your veins." He slowly sat down on a chair near his mate's bed. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

There was a soft knock on the door.

Come in and be quiet. Both of my girls are asleep. Keith mind linked his sister who slowly walked in.

"Is that her?" April asked in a whisper and her older brother nodded, not looking up from his pup.

April quickly walked over and gasped softly. "She's stunning." She bent down and gently touched the pup's head. "She's absolutely perfect." Keith held back a growl.

It's my sister Kurt. He told his wolf.

Our pup. Kurt was being over protective.

April looked up at her brother. "Can I hold her?"

Keith nodded and handed his new pup to his sister.

"She's so tiny." April smiled down at her niece. "You have an entire pack that loves you and they haven't even met you yet. Just imagine how protective they will all be." April laughed softly as she unknowingly rocked her niece back and forth. "I know Josh won't let you go anywhere alone and I know your daddy will agree with your uncle."

Keith smiled at his sister talked to his pup.

"What did you name her?" April brought Keith back from his thoughts.

"We haven't decided. Ava fell asleep before we could."

April smiled. "That's fine. I'll just call her jelly bean for now."

Keith laughed. "Why jelly bean?"

"Cause she's squishy."

Suddenly the new pup started crying and Keith jumped up and took the pup from his sister. "Shh baby don't cry." He gently rocked his pup, scared she was going to wake his tired mate. "Don't cry honey, Daddy is here." The pup stopped crying and opened her eyes up at her dad.

April gasped. "Her eyes... they aren't yours or Ava's color. They're..."

Keith had blue eyes and Ava has brown. Only one person in both their families had these color eyes.

"My pup's eyes are... gray." Keith smiled. "They're beautiful... just like her grandmothers."

"Mom would love her even more." April said as she watched the new pup grab her dad's finger.
