Brooke SmithIt was senior year here in Virginia. My best friend Madeline, or Maddy Wilson and I have been friends since freshman year. "Hey bitch!" Maddy giggled, skipping up to my locker. "Hey hoe, what are you so happy about?" I said, organizing my books and binders. "Tyler just asked me out!" She grinned. I dropped my books and my eyes went wide. "Tyler, like quarterback Tyler?" I winked. "You know it. Now skip the books and let's go drink!" She smiled, kicking her leg up. "Shh. My gosh Mads do you want to get caught?" I laughed, pushing her shoulder. Maddy walked off and I went my car. I checked my phone and scrolled through Instagram, posting a picture of one of my mirror selfies. "Well hello there." A boy with an very nice jawline said. "Uh hello. Who are you?" I asked. "Oh I'm Ma-" he was cut off by the rest of the football players pulling him away. I shrugged and turned my car on, pulling out of my school.
Once I arrived home, I played One Direction on the ihome. My eleven year old sister, Evalyn walked down the stairs. "Brook turn that down!" She yelled. "How about no!" I tapped on my chin. The music paused which meant I had gotten a text. I swiped the screen and read Maddy saying she put me in an anonymous group chat.Mads ;)
Aye I put you in a chat with a few other people!I groaned, Mads knew if there was one thing I hated it was group chats. You may wonder why, well let me tell you. Your phone is constantly blowing up with stupid little text, annoying couples, and of course the ones who choose to write their lifetime story on their little device. If you want to write a novel, write a god damn book! Once I plugged my phone into my charger, I walked downstairs and opened my refrigerator and pulled my book bag onto my kitchen table. After pulling out my Panda Express, orange chicken leftovers and microwaving it I just started on some homework. I'm not like any typical white girl who rather drink Starbucks than pass classes. I prefer to do anything it takes to graduate. That's my plan. To make it, to succeed. I finally finished and plopped onto my MacBook Pro and edited a video for YouTube, when my phone rang. I dashed upstairs and checked it.

Hey guys so you guys should all just talk bc this is squad, so yeah bye :$
Tyler :(
Uh
Unknown.
Who are you people. How did you get my number :/I laughed because Mads probably messed up the whole chat. I looked through the numbers to make sure it wasn't anyone I hated, besides Tyler. I said hi, then left. Making sure to turn off my notifications. I climbed back to the fridge to grab a water bottle. Gotta stay hydrated you know? My brother, Thomas, walked in the door with his his books in one hand and a dog leash in the other. "Hey Brooke, mind giving me a hand?" He said struggling to shut the door. I just laughed and kicked up my feet. Thomas rolled his eyes and threw a book at me.
Later that night.
My family and I were sitting at the kitchen table, eating Chinese food, and talking about our days. We had a good family, barely any arguments, and we all care about each other more than anything. Once I finished my plate I put it in the dishwasher and ran to my room. I grabbed my phone and began to text that unknown number.
