Words are collateral damage. Used in hurtful context, they break down self-esteem, individuality, creativity, beautiful souls, and wandering hearts. Writing can sometimes be that context. While it is the forum for which we share our thoughts, these thoughts can - far too often - be rooted in mockery or ignorance.
Change the tone, change the tide, and stand against bullying. This may be a cause with undefinable conclusions. An uphill battle against a power far greater than our best attempts. But it is - unquestionably - a cause that matters.
My YA novel, THE EYES OF SEPTEMBER, features two characters that play the role of the bully, and the bullied. Above is my stance against such matters. I hope that through the novel, the reader will be challenged to take a stand against bullying, and help end its negative impacts in the lives of children and teens.
