Chapter 24

First of all I want to apologize for the wait.. Really very very sorry!!!!

I've had a couple of rough months where I was trying to figure out some things and the madness had gone up to the point where I was left with no inspiration to write.

I'm back now and I just saw that this story has been going on for over 2 years.. seriously I'm thankful for sticking up with me and this story for so long. I cant than you enough.

So here is the chapter.. and people who are waiting for UNATTAINABLE LOVE..please read the note at the end of the chapter.

She'll kill him.

And not in a I'll-stab-you-now-you're-dead way but I'll-stab-you-in-your-heart-and-twist-the-knife-slowly-and-painfully way.

Ria looked at the time on her phone and huffed. He was late..again.

They had got back from London almost a month back and with her college and he trying to catch up with the work he missed, they rarely got to spend time together. Was she insane that she wanted to recreate those times by spending some romantic moments with her husband, over candle-lit dinner, which she prepared by the way.

She had reminded him in the morning, called him in the afternoon and dropped a message in the evening and..no reply.

She really was turning into a very clingy wife.

She looked at her phone again, hoping for a call, or at-least a message explaining why he was over two hours late.

She sighed and dropped her head on the table,her finger feeling the coldness of the cutlery. Maybe she was putting too much thought into it. After all ,the circumstances in which they got married were hardly romantic.

She knew what she felt for her husband was more that passable liking, but what about him?

Her eyes welled up with tears as she thought her life like this forever, being with a husband who dint care about her, dint love her like she loved him..Her head sprang up,almost giving her whiplash. She loved him?

She blinked her eyes once,twice..

Yes..yes.

of-course she did. But did he?

She called him and it went on the voicemail..again. She typed in another message and pressed sent. Looking the way things were going, the answer seemed to be no. She had messaged Sebastian over an hour ago,when he said that they were going to leave in another fifteen minutes.

Was he okay? She got up when her heart started thumping badly,when she realized that she dint even consider this option.

She felt a little dizzy as she dialed Zain's number again, then Sebastian's which too went on voicemail.

Why would you keep a cell phone if you don't want to answer it?

Her last resort before going to the office was calling up Zain's secretary. She never prayed so hard for someone to just pickup their phone. The unshed tears threatened to spill as she forced herself not to believe the number of scenarios that were going through her head.

Come on pick up the phone..

"Hello. Mariah speaking.." her cold voice rang and Ria never felt happier hearing it.

"Hello, Mariah, hi. Ria here, is Zain still in office? Wait are you still there? Is he there? Is he okay?"

"Mam, yes he is. He's still in a meeting with Ms. Khurana."

"With whom?"

"Tanya Khurana." The same Tanya who was present at the dinner in Singapore. Lovely.

"Huh..Is Sebastian there too?"

"No Mam,he left a little early today."

"Hmm. What did she want to talk about? Something urgent? "

Like life threatening?

"I.. don't know Mam but I'll tell Mr. Raizada to call you when he's free."

"Okay." she switched off her phone and threw it on the sofa,taking deep breaths in.

Tanya..he was blowing her off for Tanya. And he dint even have the courtesy to call.

He was always, at least since the past week had coming in late, hardly talking to her and now this.

She dropped down on the sofa, the tears now streaming down her face. She wasn't sure of his feelings but he wouldn't cheat on her right?

No of-course he wouldn't.

Zain could be ruthless, even heartless when he wanted to be but he would never hurt her like that. He just wasn't that kind of guy who would stoop down to the level of infidelity. Yes,she trusted him but what should she make of the whole hot-and-cold routine?

She dragged herself up, clearing away the dishes,putting away the food in the fridge, blowing off the candles and made her way up to her room, changing into one of his tshirt, inhaling his scent. Her chest felt heavy and she wanted to sob, howl with the sadness she was feeling.

How pathetic was she?

She lied down on the bed,looking now at the time on the clock on the side table.

11:32 PM.

And still no call from him. Was she being too dramatic?

She threw back the covers, thumped a fist on his pillow with frustration and got up. She knew she wasn't going to fall asleep so she might as well get some work done, she thought switching on her laptop.

Was this how it was going to be from now on? It had been going on for more than a week. And the problem was he wasn't talking to her, sometimes she felt he was avoiding her.And she knew nothing major was going on at the office,updated quite frequently by her dad and Sebastian and she spoke to his mum yesterday so she knew they were all fine.

Then what was bothering him?

She looked over at his side on the bed. She just wanted to be back in his arms.

Crazy how she fell for an overbearing guy like him who just a month ago she was forced to marry. She smiled as she thought of those far away memories, her annoyance,her irritation, her insecurities, her attraction which she tried so hard to fight. He took over her life completely and she had hated him for that but now she thought she was really lucky that he came into her life..

Or at-least she thought she was..she wanted him with her, she sighed and closed her eyes,rubbing the throbbing ache in her temples.

Was that too much to ask?

I have been receiving some messages about when Unattainable Love would start.. which is As soon as I finish this one..or at least I know when I'm nearing the epilogue for this one I'll post the first chapter.. Btw I have been thinking of changing Viaan from Unattainable Love.. from Sid Malhotra to..
