A/N: This chapter was requested a few days ago and I'm sorry if you had to wait but I've been busy lately and I only got the chance to write it today. It was weird to write about Tyler, you can guess why, but I managed to do it and I did my best to make it nice. Enjoy. x
Title: Cuddling is the most effective medicine
'Your POV'
Taking care of a sick Tyler Oakley was one of the toughest things to put up with for an average human being.
His neediness was annoying and he was the kind of person that typically transformed into the most capricious and demanding child just for a slight headache. That day I sensed something wrong in his voice after our usual morning call, his voice was indeed very rough and it was clear that he was indirectly begging me to go check on him, unable to move from his warm house on a such cloudy and cold day. I mentally hoped I wasn't doing all of this for nothing since he hadn't specified the reason of his malaise but nonetheless I rushed out of my apartment grabbing my keys and purse. We weren't living together yet, and the main reason was that we both weren't ready to change drastically our lives, as we were still profoundly fond of our personal spaces and privacy, but I wasn't excluding the possibility of moving in with him, maybe I was just waiting for him to do the first move.
I started the engine of my car and drove until I had to stop at a red light, glancing absentmindedly out of the car's window I noticed something. In front of me I had Tyler's favorite Donut shop. The boy had claimed multiple times that if he hadn't become a famous YouTuber thanks to his career he would have surely worked in that place for his entire life. A sweet surprise would have cheered him up for sure, so I resolved to stop there to get him something to eat.
The bag of donuts was still warm when I got back in the car, and I had a hard time thinking straight with their delicious smell filling my nostrils.
When I arrived at his house it was already ten in the morning, and the sky was starting to be filled with dark clouds which threatened to bring rain.
I shivered at the thought of the thunderstorm that was soon to come and I gathered all my willpower to knock hardly on the door thrice, awaiting for Tyler to open it.It didn't take much, he was expecting to see me after all, but what shocked me the most was his appearance.
He was wearing extremely baggy clothes, his hair was a nest on knots but it was nothing compared to the massive dark circles under his eyes.
The epitome of weariness."I brought you breakfast" I smiled encouragingly, showing him the bag containing his beloved donuts. Tyler groaned and let me in, silently taking the bag from my hands and placing it on the kitchen counter.
His house that day had something in common with him: it was messy.
It looked like a bunch of pigs had stormed inside and covered every piece of furniture in mud, not literally of course. I made my way to the living room where I opened the blinds and let in the bland shy sun rays that were battling for dominance against the plethora of clouds. The boy seemed annoyed by the mere daylight since he had rapidly covered his eyes, creating a barrier against the sun.I saw him getting back to his bedroom and shut the door. A pang of anger ran through me as I rolled my eyes, avoiding to snap at him before the end of the day.
He couldn't control his mood when he was not feeling well, but the only certainties that still let me put up with it were knowing that he was a wonderful person and that he loved me very much.
He needed me, I could not abandon him.I followed Tyler in the other room noticing he had gone back to his bed, and was now hiding under the covers.
Chuckling at his childish attitude I sat down beside him, playing with a strand of his hair that he had managed to leave out of his safe hiding place.
He peeped out his head from the fluffy comforter, startled by my touch, and he stared deeply inside my eyes.
For a moment I had the impression that he was trying to telepathically tell me what he meant to say, not wanting to talk."What's wrong, sweetie?" I asked, hoping he wasn't going to shut me out again.
The boy seemed lost in his thoughts as tiny raindrops started falling and hitting the windowpane, then he spoke when I was expecting it the least, he clearly struggled to do such a normal thing, I could tell.
"I think I have a fever" those words came out of his mouth more like a lament rather than an assertion.
Besides, it was complicated to trust him, he had asked for my help so many times usually exaggerating his symptoms, but I decided to let him fool me one more time. His eyes looked watery and his skin pale, he wasn't joking this time.
He seemed so fragile that I feared that a gust of wind could have easily blown him away. I hugged him tightly and was about to get up to fetch our breakfast, when he surprisingly took a grip of my hand."Please, stay." he moaned softly, nearly pleading.
Here's the thing: Tyler does not only successfully boss me around when he's sick, but when I try to take control he uses those invincible puppy-dog eyes that are impossible to ignore. They melted my heart every time, so my reply was pretty obvious.I got in the bed myself and snuggled down next to him, sometimes kissing his cheek, sometimes holding him closer to feel his heartbeat race when he was keenly aware of the small distance between us.
"I'm kinda hungry" he admitted eventually, the donuts I had bought for him weren't surely as warm as before, but still totally edible.
When he realized I wanted to get up he surrounded me with his arms."Not that kind of hunger" he said blatantly, while I blushed realizing he was talking about me.
"Kisses for breakfast sound good, don't they?" he whispered in my ear, making me freeze. He was now leaning closer, and suddenly he kissed me softly on the lips.
"I assumed you were sick" I joked, deciding I wanted to play a little with him.
"Not having you here would make me feel worse." he lovely pouted, adjusting himself so he was lying on his side, and stared at my lips for a while.
When he went in for another kiss I pushed him away delicately, so that he wasn't as close to my face as before, otherwise I would have been tempted to give in.
The boy whined loudly, giving me a disappointed look."What?" I asked innocently. "Do you want me to get a fever too?".
He only grunted in reply, pouting like a child to get my attention."Alright, just one more kiss" I conceded, allowing him to cup my cheeks and place a sweet kiss on my lips for the second time. A filling warmness invaded my stomach when he started brushing his fingers against my sides. A sudden thunder brought me back to reality and I broke the kiss just at the right moment to get up and walk to the kitchen.
"Time to take your medicine" I said in a sing-songy voice, beckoning him.
I smiled when I heard him growl and get his head back under the covers.~
