Author's Note

Hello! I have decided that I am going to update this story every Tuesday now. I have some new ideas and think that this story should be more than just 2 or 3 chapters.  I still don't own any of the characters or the music. I wish I did own it, but I don't think J.K. Rowling will sell her characters to me. I will work on it though! See you in the next chapter! Oh and the song has nothing to do with the story, I just like it. The song is called Dance with the Devil by Breaking Benjamin and it is Nightcore.

End Note

"Harry Potter is gay.".

"He dumped Ginny Weasley because he is a fag?!?!".

"The Chosen One, gay?!?". I had heard as I walked to the grounds. Great! The whole school will know by dinner! Yippee fucking doo!! I walked down to my new secret place, a tree that looks over the lake. Nobody can see me unless they get really close to the tree. A branch about a fourth of the way up is my favorite spot. Nobody knows about it. Not even 'Mione and Ron. So it is the best spot for me right now. You know, I was hoping for a normal year, where I was not the center of attention. But my bad luck is truly trying to kill me. One year of peace, is that so much to ask for?!?!? Apparently so! Why can't I have been born a normal wizard? Why did Voldemort have to ever happen?!?! Wait, who is that? They are getting to close to my tree. Way to close! Platinum blonde hair?

"What are you doing up there, Potter?" asks Draco Malfoy. No, not right now. Please just be a trick.

"Ummm... I am sitting in a tree?" I say nervously.

"Yeah, I can see that. Now what are you doing up there?" he says with no hint of sarcasm. Weird.

"I am up here because the entire school will know I am gay now." I say, waiting for the sneer.

"Really? That's why you are sitting in a tree?" Malfoy says with absolutely no sneer. What the hell is going on?

"Yeah, got a problem with that?" I say, trying to hide my surprise.

"Not at all. Can I sit with you." the blonde states. Nope, not a question.

"...".

He jumps up to the branch I am sitting on.

"Scoot over will you, Potter?" he asks.

"Why are you being nice to me?" I ask him as I scoot over so he has more room.

"You have rumors spreading around you. Plus, I would rather not piss off the guy who killed Voldemort." he says.

"I always have rumors surrounding me. And I don't bully people." I retaliate.

"Okay Potter, okay. So did you really break up with the she-weasel?" Draco asked as he looks at the lake.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?" I say in a monotone voice.

"It was a rumor, and over the years, I have learned not to trust rumors." the blonde says.

"You know anything else about me from rumors?" I say after pulling a bottle of butterbeer out of my robes. He stays silent for awhile before answering.

"Yes. I suppose I do. We were enemies for quite awhile. I was told to keep an eye on you by my father." Draco says as I take a swig.

"Like what? What do you know about me?" I say as he takes the bottle from me and drinks.

"I know that you would toss away your life to save someone you don't even know. I know that you may have been placed in Gryffindor, but you can act like any of the people in the houses. You are very modest. You like the color blue. You would do anything for your friends. Just to name a few. What do you know about me?"

"You are a true Slytherin, however you aren't evil or bad. Your father was the one to control you until 5th year, then you were forced to join the Death Eaters. You have good grades and are close to the top of our class." I state some of the less personal things I know about him. I don't need to, or want to reveal things that I know about him like how he uses lemon shampoo, or that he looks great in all colors, or that his smile is what keeps me going.

Draco looks like he is about to say something but a shout from someone stops him.

"Harry! Harry James Potter! Where are you?" Hermione shouts. Dammit! She'll find us!

"Hey, want to meet up here tomorrow and we can chat some more?" I whisper to the Slytherin. Malfoy nods yes without hesitation.

"Same time?" he questions. I nod yes and then silently cast a spell to cause a diversion in the opposite direction. Hermione rushes off to the diversion and I jump down out of the tree and run away from it. I take a roundabout way to get to Hermione and the diversion so I look like I came from the castle and not the lake.

"Harry! Where were you?" Hermione shrieked. I glance down at my feet and mumble some random excuse.

"Do you know that the school knows about your secret?" 'Mione exclaims gently. I nod and we walk back to the castle in silence.

"I am sorry your secret is out." Hermione apologizes.

"Why are you saying sorry? You didn't tell anyone besides Ron, right? It was Ginny. I told her in the Common Room and she shouted it out." I explain to the brunette.

"I am still sorry that you will have to deal with more harassment and I know how much you wanted a quiet year. But it is still the beginning of the school year, things will blow over and we will have a normal school year." Hermione tries to convince me. Maybe it will just blow over. Thankfully, I do have one thing to look forward to, Draco and I becoming friends.

"It's okay, it wasn't your fault. And it probably will just blow over." I state as we get to the castle.

"Do you want me to go with you to the dorm?" Hermione asks. I think for a second before answering.

"No. I'll be fine. You go do what you want to." I urged her. She glanced at me with worried eyes before heading to the library. I make my way back to the Gryffindor Common Room and to my dorm without much more than a few stares and some people pointing at me.

"Mate! Who told? It wasn't me or 'Mione!" Ron shouts when I enter the dorm.

"Ginny. I told her and she shouted it out because she was surprised." I tell Ron as I walk to my four poster bed and grab the stash of candy I have hidden with a spell under my bed out.

"Bloody hell! I will wring that girls neck!" Ron spat. I unwrap a Chocolate Frog and pop it into my mouth.

"No need. I really don't care." I lie. Ron shouldn't take it out on Ginny, he is her brother.

"Does Hermione know? I remember she went to go find you, right?" Ron asks as I toss him a Chocolate Frog.

"Yes and yes. Who'd you get?" I question lazily.

"Morgan le Fay. You?" Ron says with the frog already in his mouth.

"Circe." I state. I lay down on my bed and grab the book I had been working on for the 100th time since I started coming to Hogwarts, Quidditch Through the Ages. I can almost recite the entire book front to back.

The next morning, I wake up to a Northern Hawk Owl tapping on the window next to my bed and everyone else still asleep. I silently move to the window and open the glass paned window. The owl flies in the room and then lands gently on my arm. I take the letter from the owl and give it a small snack for its trouble.

I open the letter and start to read it.

Dear Mr.Potter,

Recently there have been some rumors going around about you. I would like to talk to you about them as soon as possible. Seeing as it is a weekend, I do believe we will be able to find a suitable time to meet. I would also like to know how you are doing so far this year. Please send your response back to me with Bora, the Northern Hawk Owl.

Sincerely,

Headmistress Minerva McGonagall

I write a response back immediately saying that I can meet with her right after breakfast in her office. I tie the note to Bora and send her off to McGonagall.
