I awake with a start, my eyes in shock, still confused by what just happened. The sun had gone down, and the twilight was nearly here. I look around wondering if anyone else was as confused as I was. Almost everyone around me seemed just as dazed. I looked down at my watch, it read 7:48 a.m. "It must be broken" I thought, not realizing I said it aloud.

In my peripheral vision, I see a short, sweet-mannered girl with long, curly, blonde hair and would normally have the biggest smile on her face.
"Jo! what's going on!?" I asked still a little confused. "I dunno but I sure wanna find out." she replied calmly. Her name was Jocelyn, but we just called her Jo for short.

The year was 2018... or so we thought.

"The last thing I remember was reading a book in the little wood right by my house" I thought aloud. Jo overheard me.

"And I was driving my little sister home from cello lessons." She continued.

"So how'd we get here!?" we mumbled in unison.

I looked around to see if I even recognized where we were.
We were by a water front and it looked familiar, yet it didn't. There was a small, rundown dock that rocked with every wave of water. They were small waves, but definitely visible.

"Ugh I hate it! We're in the middle of nowhere, and we have no idea how we got here." I cried, a little upset.

Just across the dirt road, in a crowd of about 25 people, I see another face I recognize. A man with short, crisp hair, broad shoulders, and just a little shorter then me.

"Chris! Over here!" I cried. He pushed his way through the crowd and finally made it to us. "What's going on? Where are we?" He asked holding his head like he had a terrible headache and just woke up.

"That's what we were wondering" replied Jo, thinking about what might have happened to her sister.

"Well, I think it's about time we find out." I said confidently.
