"Ok, now that we have our ground rules set, we'll start filming from now onwards. Just remember, there are cameras everywhere apart from the bathrooms so..." The manager of the show introduces us to the whole way everything is to work around here. We are about to be released from the meeting to relax in our rooms or do whatever we like for a bit, before we have to meet back for dinner in around 1 hour.
Before we are released, Rick, the show's executive producer, calls Louis and me to the side. Exchanging a confused look, we walk over to him. My heart is pounding in my chest, unsure of what I've probably messed up now. Did Louis tell him that I bullied him or something stupid?
"So, I saw you two haven't started off on quite so good terms, am I right?" I look towards Louis and see he does the same, before quickly turning my head back and nodding. "Well, I know we need a little drama in this show, but we can't have you two fighting continuously."
"Why not." Louis asks in slight annoyance.
Rick sighs. "Look, this is the next part." He begins. "You both are publicly gay/bisexual. You know what the fans are going to think when they hear you are in the same room. So, without better words to put this in, you guys are going to slowly have to act all lovey-dovey throughout the show and eventually announce you're a couple."
My mouth drops. "What!" Louis and I both yell at the same time, looking horrified at one another. Of course, not only am I stuck in the same room as this idiot which I can't have a decent conversation with, but I need to pretend to be his partner. "Why?" I ask.
"It's all about ratings Harry. This is show-business, not just a movie where everyone knows everything is acted. It'll be easy for you Harry, you're a great actor anyways." He begins and I literally feel like I'm about to cry. Call me a wimp but I do cry quite a bit.
"I did not sign up for this." Louis says in frustration. "Why him of all people?"
"What have you got against me?" I ask in a passive-aggressive manner, turning to him and placing my hands on my hips.
Louis snickers. "You act like you're so much better than the rest of us. Don't deny it, I've seen your interviews. Cocky ass bastard."
At this point, Rick is trying to get us to shut up but it isn't working.
"And you're not? I saw that time you spat on a homeless man." I say, making sure I put a little more emphasis on the word 'spat.'
Louis rolls his eyes. "Pft, at least I don't trip over dogs and apologise to them."
"So you'd rather spit at someone than apologise to a dog?" I ask challengingly, putting on of my hands on my hips.
"Yeah, I'd rather not look like a complete psychotic moron." He replies and I've just about had it with him at this point.
"I can't believe you've offended the whole homeless community and people with mental illnesses in one sentence." I say and at this point I am ready to slap him across the face.
He can't just simply say whatever he wants, especially on live television where he is offending more than just me.
"You're probably just too scared to take me on. That's why you're so damn defensive of these people." He teases and I glare at him.
"Scared? You're like half my height." I say jokingly and that's when Louis looks like he's about to lose it, before security comes and pulls us away from one another.
"Guys! Just try to be a bit nicer. You don't have to talk often but when you do, just make it look like you fancy one another." Rick says and I roll my eyes, walking away from Louis and his heap of bullshit that comes out of this mouth. "Harry!"
"What?" I say in frustration and he indicates to me to come back, which I do, while complaining in the process. I swear I have never clashed this much with someone's personality before.
"Now, I want you guys to pretend the cameras are rolling. What are you gonna do?" Rick asks and I look at Louis, raising my eyebrows, and it suddenly goes very silent.
"So... hello Harry." Louis says awkwardly and I smile back slightly at his failed attempt.
"Uh hi, how was your day?" I ask, realising how boring we are being right now.
"Better now that I'm with you." He says, winking slightly and I roll my eyes. Seriously?
"That was the best you could come up with?" I ask, slightly laughing in pity at his attempt, in a sort of rude manner. What? If he's rude to me, why can't I be back?
"Like you could do better boo." He says cheekily and I nod my head.
"Yeah, I can. You suck at trying to act hot." I say, trying to make him annoyed, which sadly doesn't work because a cheeky smirk plays on his lips.
"Mhmm, that's what you were saying earlier in our room." He replies and for a second I forget what he means until I remember his little tease in our room. "The only thing I suck, by the way, is dick."
"Probably badl..." I begin but am cut off by Rick trying to once again make us shut up because we're not following his programs ideas.
"Guys, I understand that you may hate each other but this show requires you to act like you like being around each other. So I suggest you stop the fighting, unless you want to be kicked off here." Rick says angrily and I roll my eyes and decide to agree. "Good, now I'm going to do my best to trust you in front of the cameras. Worst comes to worst, we can edit bits of your fighting out, but I'd rather have some footage to work off. Also, don't mention this conversation at all while the cameras are rolling." He says before finally leaving us alone and walking away.
"Fucking finally." Louis says, immediately running off, most likely to our room. Sadly I really have no other place to go, so I follow him along, which I am not too ecstatic about. "You just going to follow me or do you have a life?"
"Look, let's just try to be nice to one another for the viewer's sake." I say and he rolls his eyes. "Plus, I want my chance to leave you quiet." He gives me a confused look, while a smirk makes its way to my lips.
I quickly strip off my shirt, revealing my tattooed chest. I turn to Louis to see him just looking at me without a word, as I expected. I decide I might as well have fun from this.
"A-Are you just going to sit around like that?" Louis says finally with a slight stutter.
I laugh. "Be glad. I usually sit around at home without pants on either." I say truthfully and I see Louis slightly blush, looking the other way to hide it. "I saw that blush."
"You don't have any evidence!" He declares and I laugh, climbing my way into the sheets of my bed and taking the first book beside me from my table and starting to read it.
After a little while of silence, Louis decides to speak up again. "You know, sitting around shirtless isn't that bad revenge Styles." Louis says, probably trying to start me up or make himself look better.
"You want me to step up my game Mr Tomlinson?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"No. It's normal for you amateurs to look weak in comparison to myself." He says, looking directly at me in the eyes.
I chuckle, deciding to pull a card I thought I'd save for later this evening. "Well, if I am so 'amateur' in comparison to you, it wouldn't bother you that I sleep naked."
I see Louis gulp for a second before trying to play it cool. He always makes his actions so visible; it's hard not to see right through him.
"No, o-of course it won't bother me." He says, trying to smile. "Just, uh, t-try to cover it up, I'd rather not have it all over the internet."
"Is that your way of saying you want it all for yourself?" I ask and then Louis realised how bad his previous sentence was.
His cheeks flush red. "Oh my god no. I... Ugh shit. Why does everything I say come out wrong." He complains and I laugh at his embarrassment.
"Don't worry, we all know you love me." I say with one more batch of laughter.
