Hello, everyone! Behold -- my first contribution to the wonderful world of Wattpad! Interestingly enough, it's a dark, depressing poem; a bit unusual for me, no? At any rate, this "poem" was actually originally written as lyrics to a song; when you read it, put it to any tune you want. I had something similar to Shinedown or Hurt in mind, but you can imagine it however you like! This isn't great, but please -- tell me what you think!

My hand shakes,
My heart breaks
As I slowly watch you die inside.
Your grief is mine.
My pain is blind.
We hurt together, side by side.
A flip of a coin,
A toss of the dice,
Death comes always,
Ending life.
This fact makes it hurt no less.
It kills me, but I stay.
Never stopping,
Dark relentless,
Death will come;
Light won't protect us.
But you don't have to hurt alone --
It kills me, but I'll stay.
I know I can't leave you
alone;
I am your anchor.
It kills me, but I stay.
